ACCEPTED EARLY DECISION! Brown Video Introduction/Portfolio (Class of 2027)
Hey everyone, I just thought I'd upload my accepted video introduction to (potentially?) inspire future applicants.
Since I'm an amateur filmmaker, I thought I'd give this more artistic thought at first, but I found that it didn't reflect other aspects of my personality well enough so I had to start from scratch with only a week left until the deadline. I wrote the script for and filmed this entire video in half a day, and I'm so happy with my result!

In my latest film, "he's not getting the aux," the protagonist struggles to get his new favorite song approved by his peers. salıncak - a 99-second film (filmed November 2019)

Salıncak ("swing" in Turkish) is the first short film I made in high school, as the first project of the RC Film Academy with the theme "99 seconds" To treat this like an experiment, we filmed it by the swings on campus during an 80-minute period in one single recording.
hediye - the story of a friendship (filmed November 2021)

The film "hediye" ("gift" in Turkish) focuses on a single object (a Matryoshka doll) as Mefe and Zeynep's friendship progresses. This film was part of a class project where the objective was to make a film without dialogue.
zort - a surrealist experiment (filmed April 2022)

She enters a state of psychosis until she wakes up and realizes that she can't hear the word anymore, which results in even worse psychosis. My film "kafein" (Turkish for "caffeine") was filmed at a time during online schooling when I often had problems with my sleep schedule. Submitted to the 2021 Robert College Film Festival Paragöz (Turkish for "money grubber") is a short film edited in the style of the popular TV show The Office. (a style sometimes referred to as a mockumentary) It's about an engaged couple and the groom's disapproving mother. We see the mother meeting the soon-to-be bride for the first time.

Happy to hear that you are accepted to Brown!! I've also applied to some ivy league schools in the USA. I've got one thing left which is filing my family's tax return for css profile. I am still confused about how to file that. Can you give me brief information on how to file it pls?

I used Final Cut Pro since that's what I normally use for my short films, but this type of video could be edited with any app imo
