Thanks for viewing. Searches must be thorough for everybody's safety.
The "artificial brain" probably has less memory and computing power than your cell phone. And takes up a whole room.
I usually don't expect much from the plots, the programs are enjoyable for what they are, but this one really makes no sense. Looks borrowed from an old Republic serial. Has no one heard of insurance? What do the crooks expect to do with the machine if there is no payoff, they really can't sell it. If the owner is insured he can tell them to just smash it and go to hell. Its like stealing a famous painting or diamond, you either settle for ransom or nothing. this was early in the public awareness of computers. BTW, do any of the old car enthusiasts recognize the truck? Is it an IH?. It looks familiar but I hvae no idaa what it is. Another BTW, there was an actual Ferris Instrument Company, but they didn't make computers. Why are these silly programs so fascinating.
This same video was posted on this channel two years ago under the name "Manhunt--Finucane's Killer".
You are correct. Trying to improve the quality. Thank you for watching.
@@TheMuseumMysteries No, thank you, it was my pleasure to watch it. I only found out about the other when I went looking for more "Manhunt" episodes!
Boy, They would be shocked at the state of affairs the way they are now! 🥸

Any Phil Hendrie fans here recognize the intro theme from Jay Santos ?
I’m retired from the Florida Highway Patrol and loved Phil! Always got a great laugh when I heard this theme when patrolling 😂😂
@@aristidesmaldonado9931 He was so funny! As an officer It must have been hilarious to listen to Jay Santos pretend he had authority🤣
thank you one i haven't seen 21:49
You are very welcome. As we continue to go through our archives, we hope to post more interesting videos
I love old TV shows.
We do too. Especially shows based in San Diego

Just came across your channel today! One of the most detailed videos found on this case. I have been obsessed with her since childhood as she looked so much like my grandmother.
Thank you. We hope to do additional research to produce more content on this. The Elizabeth Short case is a tragedy.
There was a brief glimpse of the motel that Manley and Short stayed in that I think is still standing. Does anybody know what room they were in?
That is a good question. Anyone know?
this case is solved DR George Hodel killed this woman the evidence is there. what that sick freak did to Beth should never happen to anybody and the monster who did this i hope is suffering in hell!!!
We have read Retired LAPD Detective Hodel's books. He makes a strong case that his father Dr. George was the killer. We recommend his books for anyone interested in the Elizabeth Short murder.
An interesting documentary to watch pertaining to correct police procedure from the late 1940's. Those crooks sure were stupid to leave the hood of their broken down 1946 Studebaker up, as it was a tell tale sign. I noticed that at 18:47 I see a 1949 Chevrolet passing by, so this film must have been made in late '48.
Interesting to see the tactics used to stop crime.
Joe Friday inspired great
We are trying to find the scriptwriter
Wow! What a walk down memory lane! I was a Cadet working in Records Division when this was made. So many department members shown that have passed on. A good depiction of what police life was like in 1963. Thank you for preserving and sharing this movie.
Our pleasure. You are a big part of the history.
Nice summary on a mostly long-forgotten but major player in So.Calif corrupt past.
Thank you.
Excellent video and summary of Elizabeth Short's San Diego connections. Will be contacting you in the near future with some "new developments." Best Regards, Det III Steve Hodel, LAPD Hollywood Homicide Dets (ret.)
Thank you. We recommend your books to anyone wanting to learn more about the Elizabeth Short Murder.
Enjoyed watching a bit of local history. Very nice!
Glad you enjoyed it

We'll have to check out that book.
I was the neighbor that lived directly across from Ramon that the detective mentioned he spoke with. Around that same time, Ramon came to my door before lunchtime, saying his refrigerator had broken down, and asked if he could keep all the frozen meat he’d just gotten at Costco in my freezer for the day while he went out to buy a new one. I agreed, and he brought over an extra large cookie sheet loaded up with nondescript ziplock bags of frozen meat. When my boyfriend came home, Ramon hadn’t retrieved it yet, so I showed it to him and actually joked about it possibly being body parts. From the beginning, Ramon gave me the heebie jeebies. Several times, he came over after my boyfriend had left for band practice, asking me to have dinner with him. He tried to come off as easy and charming, but I could see something sinister in his eyes behind his smile. He creeped me out so much with the constant invitations that I asked my boyfriend to speak with him about it. Thankfully, it stopped after he did. For the record, I did ask him in passing at one point, where his wife was. His explanation was that she was in Canada obtaining a nursing license because the one she had from her own country didn’t transfer to the US, and the nursing program was much faster and cheaper there so she could return to him and their young son sooner. I didn’t find out about all this until several years later, but it taught me that I can ALWAYS trust my intuition, and what you see in someone’s eyes really is a reflection into their soul.
Thank you for viewing and especially for sharing your story. We are glad you trusted your instincts, staying away from your neighbor who really was a murderer.
remarkable and historic video. Thank you for posting this!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching

I have been desperately searching for the French residence at 2750 Camino Pradero in the Bayview area in San Diego. I have not been able to find it on Google maps. Do you know if it is still standing or if they changed the address to the home?
The entire development was scrapped and rebuilt. Google Earth 2600 Haskell. You will get an overview of where the French's lived. The McDonalds at 4711 Mission Bay Drive now stands where the restaurant Miss Short was last seen in San Diego. Thank you for watching

Thank you Paul. With any luck we will be updating the episode in a few months with some additional information.

Excellent research and use of photos and file video. I hope you can get a better set-up for a microphone to be worn by the person being interviewed. Audio is hollow. Steve, put a cord from the prop desk mic off the desk to make it look authentic.
Hi John. Great advice! I think we have mastered the sound issue for future episodes. We still need you to come back in and rerecord Hub Loan. That's an incredible story that deserves to be told. Plus your book deserves props!
@@TheMuseumMysteries Happy to help anytime. Just let me know.
@@johnculea397 Do you still have contacts at News 8? We want to do a story on Grape Street Park and located 1984 in review and you are the host. As you can well imagine there is great footage of the search and arrest but we would like to get permission to use it to be safe.
@@TheMuseumMysteries News director Dean Elwood is gone as is the officer manager Moana Pitcher. The last I heard is that the acting news director is Barbara Richards. I would start with a phone call to her. Jeff Zeverly is the only reporter there that I know. Louis Weiner is a producer who might direct you to the right person.
Was the narrator related to Jack Webb? Interesting to see the old jail.
Hi John. I wish I knew more about the video. No one seems to know why it was made or who did it. It languished in the SDPD vault for decades.
I ring a life long resident of San Diego I vaguely remembered the case. It was very interesting to hear it from Rick Carlson’s perspective
Rick is an incredibly interesting person. Thank you for watching.
