ATV FINAL REPAIR
Переглядів 55День тому
Hopefully this will be the last thing that NEEDS to be done to the ATV to make it usable again. So far we have replaced the transmission, cleaned the carb, cleaned the plug, aligned the axle, shortened the chain by one link, swapped drive gears, repaired the gas tank(silicone failed) with a plastic welder. Let's see what else could go wrong :D

Polaris Trail Boss 250 R/ES 1988 250cc 2-stroke 2 wheel RWD I have had a blown out gas tank on this Polaris for a few years now so I'm finally going to fix it. It's a plastic tank from 1988, the vent plugged one year and it bulged and blew the side open. After trying epoxies, sealants, silicones, and a few other things I finally decided to try plastic welding. This is pretty decent, you can get...

This is a Polaris trail boss 250 R/ES. I believe this model was made from 1986-1989. It's a 2WD, 2stroke, 250CC, PVT (dual clutch belt drive) ATV. The top speed I've seen in a hand held speedometer was 46 mph on a flat plane. Ultimately it's a fun and light little quad great for ripping and still good at offloading thanks to the solid rear axle. I've taken it through the swamp and driven over a...

We blew a tranny... on the 1988 Polaris. Will we be able to swap it out in one day?! Nope we won't that's why this is part one of 2. 2-stroke engines are pretty neat. Especially when they are running right and the clutches are operating smoothly. Unfortunately the secondary trans- a chain case to regear the output -decided to start slipping. So we're taking the parts beast inside and ripping it...

15° F? So warm!
Gotta watch the country. Mice will crawl up inside the exhaust and clog it up. Had it happen. When it finally released it came out in the shape of a can solid as a rock. All rice. Beautiful car!
Sounds beautiful.
Right, there's something about smaller V8s that's just freaking melts my brain
Why rev a cold engine
She was locked up, limited life left in it, and low comp on 2 out of the 8 so let's have some fun 😎

UA-cam won't let me post the link to the welder, if you want it then go on Ebay and type in "Plastic Welder"

Ancient Chinese secret
It's making ac and the faster the more not the harder
Of course, you could not have the sine waves to pulse the coil unless you supply AC. By using DC I merely measured what would be the peak of a sine wave, also the intensity is important to get full travel out of the cone.

Oh you should see what flowing fire hydrants is like. That 2400 gpm is insane
Definitely going to take a look into that 👍
Friends neighbor had one still top 10 best looking muscle car holy crap! 😍
Why does the paint do that? I've seen it in a few videos but not many clear answers as to why.
Not positive but I believe it's a chemical reaction between the primer and paint. It's really weird because it was only the rear quarters.
Look like a great paint job 👏❤️
Hey, thanks man. Painting is all about the body prep 😎
Hell no ,comes out thru grill
I trust a skidsteer and a chain more than a brand new 4 post lift.
Definitely beats finding a sturdy tree to winch from
I know the skidsteer has a parking brake but im not trusting that shit not to roll back
Ahhh, so what we did was unbolt the subframe, used the skid steer to lift the body past the engine then used the land cruiser to yank it out of the way and set it back down on jack stands 😎
@@JOALSTwell if it works it works, Skid steers have so many uses they really come in handy 😂😂😂,
American cars USED TO kick major butt on the world stage.
that color is 🔥
Thanks man, it's Restoration Shop's "Rally Red"
Hi from CA :) SoCal It has 168 Extra cost interior Skylark type. AC car code N Burgundy Mist.
I really appreciate that information. I was reading the body code and found it to be a V6 from the factory but the car had 60k a 300-2 and a TH350. I swapped back in a ST-300 and man is that a beautiful transmission.
fred flintsone brakes
dang, 4 drums
Yeah, I'm looking at doing a conversion to front disc
I just saw one of these on marketplace. How much did you pay for this ?
Hah, you won't like this but after three separate owners and none of them being successful it was gifted to me as a turd to be dealt with 😅
Is this why my lawn mower pull cord won't retract?
Most likely needs a new spring
Packing/shipping foam insulation or there is a product that replaced concrete for setting posts and construction. Both products come in a bag and are a product you pour into a set structure and they fill and then harden.
I'll check it out, I've been doing some research and have seen people using something similar to that. I think I'll have to get something of a similar density because the foam is the structure of this board
I work in aerospace and we use foam all the time. I don’t know a thing about canned foam but I can tell you that: substrate prep is key (clean that shit well), try and spray it in an environmentally controlled area, and wait until it FULLY cures. Also you can stick your knife in and twist it to pop pieces off while trimming. The technicians do it when they trim. Also, see if you can find a forum for foam brand recommendations, I’m sure there’s a group of guys who’ve already figured this all out. Just need to do a little digging to find the community. I mostly see the guys who modify stand up jet skis doing similar things you are trying to do.
Hey thanks man, love learning new things and I think you just pointed me in the right direction. I really appreciate that. 👍
@@JOALST no problem dude. And I might add that you can search (Yamaha Super Jet hull modifications) wealth of info there.

Bro! What is this exhaust setup? Was it headers to resonator?
The secret was in the head work and the lightened flywheel. Had the biggest valves possible, lightened flywheel, and a snubbed intake to the stock manifold (on an l28 a header wont do anything(Japanese engineering)) to a 2-1/4" pipe with a resonator
@@JOALSTdefinitely nice man! Tryna learn more about my L engine I just got my first Z so I’m excited but man your Z sounds amazing! Immdef gonna be doing those mods
Oooo, best advice for you sir is get the lightened flywheel (makes an insane difference) but don't go too light and I think the N47 head is the one you'd be after then (I forgot if N47 is the head or the block :/
@@JOALST so at the moment I have the N42 head ? Hmm I’m wondering why the n47 head will give that sound is the difference profound ??
Believe it or not the n47 has round exhaust ports (slightly larger as well) vs the 42 which has square ports. Port matching the 47 just gives such a smooth flow for that sound
Bro what is your exhaust setup?! This is insane!!
I just love the choice of wood to hold up the hose, i love how the clamps were hand tightened and not drill tightened, and that every bluegill and minnow was going into that pump lol
only the highest degree of professionalism is accepted P.S. no worries, the bass ate all the minnows and the blue gill won't fit through the rock filter
Pft childs play, the mud pumps I used to run were 90000gph two of em side by side with 16v72s at full throttle.
I wanna see that
@@JOALST ua-cam.com/users/shortsstfy8jmcIMw?feature=share3 they're the same as that, this guy didn't do a very good video of it but that's the setup. Usually you have two or three of em hooked together to circulate fluids and mud
I'm curious, why do you call him fish? Does he love to swim?
A Xander is a eurasia fish which we didn't know before we named him... Ironically he hates swimming, he just wades into water and sits down.
What a beautiful precious dog
Nice truck
Thanks 👍
I would have had a seizure if I saw that
I didn't like it much either
cool 😀
That starter will work better at 10 seconds than at 2
i gotta pull the starter and grease the armature up a bit
Was doing this all weekend on my 4runner :D #wisconsin
Gonna be a great year of rust scrubbing, hey?
That was anti climatic
well that's 500 gallons a minute How about, I make a full video playing with the pump to see how much it can do?
Thant what she said.

I'd like an episode 2
Now I like that one.
