F-Log2C vs F-Log2: Is Fuji's Firmware Update Worth It?
In this video, I explore Fuji's new F-Log2C from the firmware 7.10 update. I test its improved color handling with a wider gamut surpassing BT.2020 and compare it to previous F-Log formats. I also look at the autofocus upgrades, including some quirks with eye detection, and share real-world results with Fuji and Viltrox lenses.

wait so every time I change my lens I need to add it inside the camera ??
No, you can save it as custom settings - using your custom dial so you don't need to repeat the steps all the time.
Thank you for all your sharing. Your latest invention is amazing. Please continue.
Thank you! I appreciate your comment
This is an ingenious solution. I wish you would have turned on the light as it looks like some light leaks are possible with it. Also, it seems Smallrig has finally released an official adapter now.
Thanks for the comment, the good news is that the lights do not leak out due to the Mini Hyper Reflector 8:43 . If you noticed in the video, I attached it to prevent from leaking.
Work in ACES. Use the official F-Log 2 Input Transform. Poof.
Hi, thanks for your video. For a long time I am thinking to get the sirui saturn for my XH2s and I could not find a video which shows the settings...so cool. Although your video examples are nice I could not see the anamorphic effect that much. Maybe it`s because there are no people in the scenes? Do you still shoot with that lense. best regards Claus
Hi , thanks for commenting. Honestly I think they played it way too safe with this one. The bokeh and character of the lens isnt as pronounced as some of the others in the market. I have been thinking of buying their anamorphic adapter to test on some of my vintage lenses to see what results I get, overall it is a safe bet, quite sharp, not as as soft either. Wide field of view and black bars but besides that it is missing alot of the uniqueness I normally aim for. I still use it because it is very convenient and light weight but besides that i'd experiment with adapters with vintage lens to see what I can pull off.
thank you sir !
You're most welcome 🙏🏾
does the camera have desqueeze for the footage or did you have to do that in post? edit: nm saw that you answered in a previous comment. I also saw separately that possibly the new GFX 100 II has desqueeze now
I desqueezed in post. I have a quick video on how I desqueezed the footage too. Yeah GFX100 II seems to have. I think it is an underated camera as it produces amazing images. Fuji should try and bring out a full frame version and I think it will do really well.
WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT SHOWER CURTAINS CAN HAVE ANOTHER PRACTICAL USE?!😅

Man thank you for this! I am looking for the sony FX3 set up of my anamorphic. Is that related to sony also?
Thanks for responding this is tutorial is for FX3 but similar concept applies with different interface. @@FilmOnBudget wow thank you man i hope this link will helps me of my problem😂
Man the problem is my the manual mode is not Functioning to my anamorphic 😏
@@jayfordtv3601 hmm 🤔 that's a tough one do you to update your firmware? I unfortunately don't have FX3. I hope someone in the comments can help.
how do you do this for multiple clips together ?
I haven't tried it yet. Here's an idea... Copy clip on the timeline that has already been converted and select the multiple clips you want to convert, right click on it then choose paste attribute. Let me know how it goes.
@@FilmOnBudget You can actually now just select all of the clips you want to adjust in the media pool and do the same steps! I just tested it out in the DR 19 Beta
@@SPNCEmusic thank you that was helpful. I will try it with my anamorphic lens next week
Shesh the quick mount s bracket is so expensive .. as compared to the andeor 60w cob light 🤣
I guess if price was a deciding factor we'll all have more affordable things and never look at higher price tickets that is practical. I purchased mine for the fact that I love the product, and I wanted a solution for it. Thanks for sharing, I will check that out and maybe do a product review on both. Also depending on where you are the Westcott Quick Mount can be cheaper . I also advise people to shop around.
The mount itselft in india is too expensive... Or else this particular hack is incredible @@FilmOnBudget
@@LeafOfAutumn05 I just browsed the product, it actually looks promising. My question though is whether it is a Bowens mount compatible? 🤔
@@FilmOnBudget it's not compatible with the bowens mount just like this small rig light... I was looking for an alternative way to mount the light to a softbox but no luck so far... But I saw another guy posted a shorts with the Zhiyun 60w cob light .. he fitted the light directly on to the s2 bracket... Hopefully that will work for me...
@@FilmOnBudget the Wescott mount in India is around 5-8k which is around 80-100$ (and the andoer 60w which is rebranded as digitek dcl 60w WBC is just 4.9k Indian rupees
Isn't Arri C3 the way to go instead of Red log film for Flog2?
Arri didn't give me the detail I needed for the flog 2 especially with the lens I was using but the one that is an exact match is Apples log. It has the same chromaticity coordinates which makes sense. My other video explains why it works with F-log 2
Thing I'm not clear on is can you see/film the de-squeez image of the anamorphic when filming?
If you have a field monitor plugged into your camera with an anamorphic settings then you can... Even better if you have custom luts installed in the field monitor, you'll see how it looks in post production.
@@FilmOnBudget Thank you kindly for the reply. I knew that half, I was fishing for an in-camera solution. Imagine I used to use film (no alternative) and we got this stuff now.
They briefly advertised the Smallrig ID4476 as a Mini-Bowens to normal Bowens adapter but then they took it down. This is a great option instead. Thanks for posting!
I never comment but I definitely have to say thank you for this video!
I appreciate that! Thank you 😊
@@FilmOnBudgetI bought it and after a month of waiting I can’t get the bracket to screw on because it’s to short. What kind of magic did you work?
@@cowgirldelux Thanks for commenting, did you adjust the screws alittle and insert the mini reflector? Once you insert the reflector adds as an additional support so the light doesn't leak out. Please let me know , I am here to help :) part 08:42 to and 4:33

Genius! I'll be giving this a try. Thank you
Thank you for this! I've been doing multiple jumps through loops like setting the Y axis zoom to .625 This is so much easier. I'm now following this channel and am excited about it.
Thank you!
Hands down the best de-squeeze method I've seen, thanks
Thank you!
Great hack! Will be doing this for my RC60B too
Anybody know if the Nanlite Bowens adapter for the Forza 60 would work for the Smallrig rc60b?
Gear and gaffer showed that the accessories from nanlight 60 ii are incompatible in his smallrig 60b review so I doubt the adapter would work
Update: Smallrig now produces a full size Bowens mount adapter for the RC 60b
Do you take your exposure compensation as 0 when shooting ?
Yeah, it normally I do, but it depends on the condition and the level of exposure, if it is too sunny, I can drop it down. I even use variable filters but I normally keep it at zero.
Thank you a lot!! i was almost returning 2x RC60Bs, because i couldn't find an bowens adapter!! Shout out!
You're welcome, most people give up looking but I am glad you saw this video :)
Thank you :D
You're welcome!
so did you do any color correction yourself or just shift color spaces?
I only exposed the footage. I haven't corrected it yet. Later I can then Correct it e.g. White Balance, Brightness/Luminance, Noise etc... afterwards
Hey, thanks for this idea, I'll give it a whirl.
Hey, Glad I can help! If Redlogfilm doesn't compliment your footage, you can choose panasonic V-log, thats the next closest thing. I chose the Redlogfilm because of how much color pops out of the image when I expose it, in particular with the Zeis lens. Fujifilm log is ok, but i often find that it doesnt pull out alot of the colors and most of informaton you need. I may record a video to demonstrate the list of input Gamma.
What lense did you use?
SIRUI Saturn 35mm

nice one
Thank you!
Amazing video! I was looking towards getting the xH2s together with some anamorphic lenses. Does the xH2s have anamorphic desqueeze for previewing the footage?
Thank you __There is no anamorphic desqueeze preview, but you can use a field monitor with custom anamorphic capailities . The one I have seen so far that is under budget with a great screen quality is the VILTROX DC-550 Pro. If you are aiming for a high end then you need to look for Atomos field monitors.
Excellent Work mate, No nonsense and to the point with some very informative info, i have a XH2 and was thinking about getting a Anamorphic and would of been up a creek without a paddle trying to figure out why the lens wouldnt work until i saw this...Thanks Bud.
Thank you, glad I can help.
Awesome video thank you! Just thinking about buying the sirui 50mm for my fuji set up. Have you tried the RAW video options of the camera? I’m thinking about geting the atomos V so i can use the full potential with raw.
Thank you for commenting-- I haven't yet purchased the sirui 50mm. I will add it to my collection in future as I continue to get used to shooting in the 35mm anamorphic. I think for my workflow, F-log2 works well but I will experiment with RAW to see how it looks. Atomos V is pretty good it is not on my radar yet though. I agree that if you really want to squeeze every limit out of the camera you should grab a kit that also compliments it so I'll definitely check that out.
I tried to find a Monitor/Recorder on a budget but i don't find anything cheaper than the atomos that makes any sense. @@FilmOnBudget
@@MarinKarastoianov I might do a review on the viltrox monitor -- they are pretty decent if you want a basic monitor with a good screen quality. It has a few limitations but that depends on your workflow.
@@FilmOnBudget yeah i got one old model from them but it is just a monitor. Still great quality for the money.
