Massey Deere 54" plow adaptation in action

Video from the end of the first good snowfall since the new 54" Deere plow was adapted to the Massey Ferguson GC2310.
Great idea! Thanks for sharing. Building it this weekend
Don't think it would work for my 2400 pound backhoe attachment....
Put a60 in Kubota on my GC 2300
Thing181: I actually made a dolly using your idea and it is now holding my backhoe. I should have made a video making it but after thought is always too late (smile). Man, I learned to slowly and carefully lower the BH onto the dolly so I don't miss the cut-out for the bucket. It was funny and thank goodness I didn't video that process. I'm sure if I had, I would have had some hilarious comments. Thanks for sharing your dolly idea.
Thing181: Nice job on the dolly. Gave me a good idea on how to create my own. I struggled trying to adjust and readjust the backhoe while stationary on the ground. Your dolly fits the bill. Thanks and great video.
Nice job on the dolly! subscribed!
Dave, I am about to make a dolly similar to this for my GC1710. I will have to modify the dolly slightly but not by very much.
this looks like a good one.
Yep, Thing181 must have foreseen that I was going to have difficulties with my backhoe (chuckle). Now, I guess I won't have any excuses once I get my dolly built and in place (smile).
I was at Fowler's Marina looking at my boat the day you were doing the video of the marina, good job!
It's that time of year.... Any desire to sell the plans or provide access? I don't know how to fabricate stuff like this but I'd take the plans to a local weldor in nj.
If you took your bh off and onto the dolly then wheeled it into the garage, how much room do you think you'd need? I'm trying to plan for picking mine up later this week. Thanks.
7 years later and this is still saving folks $. someone just sent me a link to this since I was going to sell my JD with the plow to get a gc2410. This is awesome. Anyone else do this? The hydro connectors are the same? You just needed longer lines is that right? I have a parker store near me so they could prob make the lines. Now I just need to find a fabricator. Thank you.
+Very Zebra - I would very much like to do this. I haven't got the money to do otherwise. I was thinking of ways to accomplish the same thing but this is really the perfect solution. I have to show this video to my local welder and see if they can make the bracket
Ok, who else thumbed-up this vid just because the cutie made ya smile? :)
I'm doing a similar project on my kubota. Any chance you would share the SW or CAD file? Also how much space did you leave between the lower hook and the ground? This would help me make sure I get the proper height for cylinder stroke. My email is red9001978@Yahoo.com
Any chance I can get a copy of the cad model fro the tractor side mount frame? I have a GC2300 I would like to adapt as you have. Great job.
Thank you so much, built one for my GC2410....worked beautiful first time. 5 minutes on and off! . You saved me hours of messing around.
I bought a Jet Ski dolly for mine and works great. All alluminum, built for the weight, and the backhoe fits perfect.
awesome. need to build one for my gc2410tlb. thank you sir.
Also, instead of using 2 x 8s, I used 2 x 10s, as that's what I had laying around. However, bigger is not always better. The larger size was causing an interference fit with the tractor itself, when using the 5" wheels. I ended up adding a 2 x 4 support to the bucket support, as you did for the frame support, just for some extra strength. After building this, and tweaking it to get it working right, I realize there was quite a bit of engineering that went into the design. Thanks again!
I just finished building this! I started with 5" wheels, but it turned out they were tool tall and I couldn't get enough "tilt" on the frame to get lower pins to release. So I switched to 4" wheels. I also see what you meant by mocking up before building. I went through a few mock-ups before I got the right height for where the frame needs to rest. I noticed that you also aligned the caster mounting holes with the taper of the 2 x 4 stringers. Good touch!
What is the weight rating of each of the casters? I'm curious as to how much the backhoe weighs. I just got my GC2410 and now that it's in the garage, I can see how this dolly will save a lot of space.
. . . and it saves space, as you don't have to have the outriggers extended! Great idea!
Very cool! I'm looking at getting a GC2410 TLB with 60" MMM. This is a great idea for moving the BH around the garage or barn! Thanks for posting this!
Was this tape sped up? to seem like he and the cars on the road were going really fast.
I have a 60 in. blade from M.F. fully hydro , i wonder why you put so much labor fitting one. It comes in 54 or 60in. factory made that plugs to your joystick.
Did you start with any Deere brackets or did you fabricate the whole thing?
Nice job on the plow mod.Looks like it works well for ya.Great to mom and babe getting into the fun too.GREAT vid. Thanks for sharing.
Join us at tractorbynet, the mf forum would love to see this.
Great video and great diy project! I have the 2410 but haven't tried Removing the bh yet or loader for that matter.
did you have to add a hydraulic piston to make the plow angle, or did the john deer 54" plow come that way?
Bravo Aimee! Loved it.
nice set up
Great little video~ You have a beautiful family. Quick question: How have your turf tires held up in the snow? Slipping/slidding? I just bought a new GC2400 with the 2340 plow and wondering how she'll do. Thanks...
she is cute... my lil gurl gets wild when it snows... i take her along once in a a while!
This is great. Did you post a thread anywhere showing how you did this? I'm looking at a MF 1220 with a FEL. I'd like to make something like this as well if I get the tractor.
i run the same tractor, it is very nice. nice vid but gay family moment at the end
my old man has the same rig with the front end loader on it. pretty damn strong machine for it's size. with the back tires loaded with calcium, a 396 chevy block put on the 3 point as weight, the loader lifted the big block into my f350 NO PROBLEM!
