Haddad - Prelude and Etude for Organ, Op. 9
Prelude: Afternoon at the Lake
Dark clouds blanket the sky over a lake, dampening the peaceful mood. A storm approaches. The piece opens softly over a low G on the pedals, becoming louder as a summer storm draws near. Pedal notes portray the distant rumblings.
Etude: Thunderstorm
Octaves on the pedals herald the storm, brief and powerful as it passes by. The music slowly subsides with the tempest's passing. Pedal notes portray both the thunder overhead, and the distant rumblings later in the piece, echoing those in the Prelude.
I played on my new Content Clavis 224R. Previously, I composed organ music on a digital piano using the Hauptwerk software. Here is another organ piece of mine: ua-cam.com/video/0q1aoFqvEKE/v-deo.html
On my channel, I briefly discuss the focal dystonia in my right hand - finger positioning is different than the left, but relaxation techniques have helped with movement and extension. Here is a video where symptoms are less prevalent: ua-cam.com/video/s9u9F_lQc3I/v-deo.html

A transcription for organ of Liszt's mighty piano work, Orage (Storm), from his Annรฉes de pรจlerinage, Premiรจre annรฉe: Suisse. A powerful evocation of a winter storm, this piece is well suited to the organ. The piece was recorded on a digital piano using the Hauptwerk software, St. Anne's Moseley. Full of rich harmonies, this piece weaves a tapestry of sounds. The piano works of Ravel and Roslavets were an influence here. I did this recording a couple of years ago when the focal dystonia in my right hand was becoming more pronounced - though I was still able to extend my fourth finger when needed. Around a month later I wasn't able to play much with two hands and focused mainly on left h...

I discovered this recording of Etude 2 in my files and thought I would share it. I already posted an audio recording of all three Etudes. This is a slower take and the video quality is not good (old camera, bad lighting) - tried to improve it as much as possible! Grand arpeggios dominate this piece, rising and falling over octaves in the depths of the keyboard. These are my first forays into co...

Etude 1 "ร‰clat" (0:06) A flamboyant piece similar to Etude No. 2 in its lively character, both works keeping the performer occupied with a barrage of notes. Semiquaver passages accompany sparkling chords that streak down the keyboard. Rapid figurations in both hands contrast with leaping chords. The whole atmosphere is one of exuberance and joy, prompting the title, "ร‰clat". Etude 2 "The Sea" (...

Continuous wide-spaced arpeggios sweep up and down the keyboard over a melody in octaves. Chopin's novel use of these arpeggios, based mainly on chords of a tenth, instead of the usual octaves, creates a sparkling sound never heard before. Tzimon Barto is a Steinway artist, so I was thinking he used a New York Steinway, known for its bright sound and sonorous bass - a crashing bass, as I like to call it. Listen to Horowitz on his NY, but he had it voiced to be even more brilliant! The Hamburg Steinway has a mellower sound, and seems to be more popular among pianists. I prefer the NY. This recording, however, was done in England, where the Hamburg is more common. It could also be the pianist, who plays with a lot of strength.

A Rather free interpretation with improvisation in points that are not officially noted but I don't think that is a problem as long as it is done tastefully which I thought it was and his tempi and touche are good. I Like it.
