Been using those wall plugs recently and can confirm they are brilliant! Some plumbers are still using normal plugs I note. Thanks for the info on the Locktite. I have always used PTFE tape. It takes longer and still doesn't look perfect as a small amount is always visible. I've been wanting to find some sort of glue alternative for some time.

Loctite 577 seems so easy compared to wrapping loads of PTFE round. Going to have to get some I think

I used to have one these Hiaces. Most reliable van I've ever owned. Shame they stopped producing them. It's now the PSA group junky Proace. If Toyota could produce a Euro 6 complaint engine for the Hilux. Surely they could make the same engine compliant for a new hiace 🤷‍♂️

Sidewinders: theres a blast from the past. The firm I worked for preferred microversion/hotrods that screwed into the immersion boss if the customer could not run to a cylinder change. Also the manual 3 way divertor if money was tight and upgrade to Y-plan was then pretty easy later when funds became available. Baxi 551 b/boiler and radiant gas fire was by far the most popular in those days round here. How times have changed. ;-)

Same press gun as me, great stuff. I don't mind pressing in and around boilers. Some of the designer rads I stick to conventional sweated joints. Oh yeah and microbore. Saves the hastle of waiting for capillary joints to dry out. Saved my bacon on live mains snatches too. Great stuff Andy 👍

I was the same all those old skills we had to do for C&G early 80’s for me , you never forget though, and nice to have done it really when you look at how things have moved on. 👍
