    Do you not have an oil cooler? My oil was running at 235-240 F on my stock ls2 but didn’t have an oil cooler. Put a z06 oil cooler and stays at 190 on the freeway now

    Quick question, what brand intercooler are you using and have you had any cooling issues? Also, it looks like you've removed the AC as I don't see a condenser in front of the radiator? I have a Vortech Supercharger on my C6Z with their intercooler and having overheating issues. Trying to come up with solutions without going back to a NA motor. Thanks

      I kept AC. With weather over 100 deg I didn’t drive it. Just got too hot. I had ECS race intercooler. Dewitt’s radiator and prospeed fans. Those helped but still can’t keep up over 100deg.

      @@jarmitage71 - I appreciate the reply. Sounds like we have similar setups and issues. My car does not like 90+ weather. I have the short DeWitts radiator, dual Prospeed fans and A&A belt tensioner with the stock belt. I hoped by replacing the stock fan with the Prospeed unit, it would help but the temos are the same. I'm now thinking to change intercoolers and go with the one A&A makes. The only issue their intercooler is located in the same place as the stock engine oil cooler. Their solution is to use the Dewitt's radiator w/engine oil cooler side tank. Not sure if that's a great idea. Ideally, an oil cooler or two located somewhere in the nose getting good airflow would be best. Oh well, I will keep trying. Good luck as well!

    I know this is a old video but do you or did you ever have any over heating issues we have similar set ups and man I can’t even think about driving my car on a 100 degree day specially with the ac on she gets hot after I put this intercooler in mine and I don’t have the dwitts radiator I just have stock but I wasn’t sure how much it helped and how hard it is to wire up where it still comes on with the ac and how hard it is to mount or if it just drops in. Thanks in advance man been following all your videos!

      Over 100 is tough on these cars stock. When you add more power it makes it worse. Just not much air intake area. The Dewitt’s by itself wasn’t enough. Needed the big fans I put in. Still when over 100deg outside it would get 230-240.

      My stock alternator wasn’t keeping up. Had 100+ misfires on cylinder 7 on that hit. No idea what it was at down a cylinder. Maybe 800-900

      That’s unfortunate but considering that point, impressive you handled the truck. Really considering a g3x. Ever get a 60-130 time? If so at what power? I have seem a few runs with the 10r mustangs and they are absolutely nasty with the Ess kit lol

      @@LSxSupremacy313 the G3X is probably the best all around supercharger I have seen. Best design for oiling and air flow. 600-1000+ and spins up quick. I did a 60-130 one time with the G3 when I first got it. 5.15 I think. Granny shifting the GS trans which has the worst of all the vetts for power. 1,2,3 are very close and the 3-4 is an 1800rpm drop so takes a bit to get back in good boost. Probably 850-900hp at that time.

    C5 Z 408 iron block/Novi....900hp/torque, tr6060.....I too thought them lib tears where gold. Then my Commifornia brO told me about proud boy tears.... hard to find bur the ones shed right after they learned Trump lied about marching along side them and then wouldn't pardon'em....I actually was able to bump my timing up! Should fix them burnt plugs too ftw.

    Gen 1 and 2 coyotes will make 430-465 depending on mani and how aggressive tune is. (Being e85 fbo) and gen 2s weigh 3700lbs. Definitely a possible outcome.

      Stock rear end still on that car. The manual is 3.42. I tried 3.90’s in it but the trans gearing on the grand sport (1-2) is too short for the 3.90’s.

      @@pontiaco I have a video on here taking it. Shitty AZ air. 9.7@144 I think was the time. 1.40 60’. Didn’t wanna break the trans so granny shifting. The 3-4 shift on the GS trans is a huge gap. Drops 1800-1900 rpm so it never gets back into good boost. 6000rpm at the 1/4.

    Very nice! So still 2.96 1st gear ratio and 3.42 diff? I got a '12 GS Drivetrain for my 800hp - 1000 hp supercharged build. Some folks say the 1st gear is kiiindaa short for that power, idk what do you think?

      The problem is 1-2-3 are very short then 4 is 1-1. The rpm drop from 3-4 is huge. When I ram 1/4 mile, rpm dropped 1800 rpm. Put me at 6000rpm at the finish. Drops you out of good power and never get back into it. For power you really need Z06 or ZR1 gearing.

      Hinson motor mounts and trans Mounts. Right before I sold it I swapped to a ZR1 trans and put the ECS diff brace on too. Never ran it after that though.

      I had the stock GS for a couple years. Just switched to the ZR1 right before I decided to sell it. Anything over 800 hp I think the ZR1 trans is awesome

    Hello there! It is a small world. So, two or three years ago, I was cruising West on the San Tan Fwy in my stock Cyber Grey C6 ZR1 daily driver and I was smiling quite a bit. I rolled up beside this C6 (Z06 or GS, maybe?) that had a memorable license plate (in my recollection, something like GRMPA...). I don't even recall if I downshifted into the right gear, because... well the ol' ZR1 usually has the upper hand. No matter because that C6 just walked-off and left me like I've never been walked on before; and I'm not new or young. I truly couldn't comprehend what happened and it seemed like my ZR was just ignoring the gas pedal. Maybe it just stalled-out??? Well, no... it did what it always did, but that C6 just ate my lunch. Anyhow, the guy was cool and let me catch back up - seemed like a nice and friendly sort. He was smiling now and I was laughing in amazement and I said Holy S%$# and asked him what he was running, or some such. The guy pointed to the hood and held his fingers up, making out the number "1000". So I found out first hand what 1000 hp looks like from the other lane... WOW!! Des this sound familiar to youj? BTW, my still daily driver ZR1at 55000 miles just ate a roller wheel on #5 intake. Full rebuild. Ill be keeping the block, crank, rods, heads, and blower, (because I like the ZR1 stuff and think it should stay in the ZR1) but will be looking for some decent increases with upgraded pistons, cam, porting, AR headers, ID1300x, 14% lower and 2.6 upper, flex fuel, bootstrap fuel pump, enhanced water cooling for the intercooler, improved oiling and oil cooling, enhanced airflow anywhere I can get it and heat shielding everywhere, etc... and Monster 3-disc clutch while it is accessible. It wont be 1000hp. It will be a pretty fast daily driver and more comfortable and I anticipate way more reliable here in the valley the Sun and hopefully go another 50000 miles before needing a "tuneup". Anyhow.. Good to see you again! Glad your doing some videos. And if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to ask a couple of questions that your experiences may have the answers to, and since I only want to do this rebuild once, I am willing to take advice.       I absolutely remember that. Heading east of Higley on 202. Had to be careful because I had the street tires on it. Sorry to hear about your engine. Hopefully you have a good place lined up. If not, Mario Mikha in chandler is who I would use. He does very good work and then have Bill at AEM tune it.

      I think so. Stock LS3 mild port. They flowed ok. The PRC heads I have on now flow much much better

    Damn, 380whp to 475whp from heads cam and tune. Thats pretty awesome power gains for doing a few simple mods and not having any force induction yet

      Was even better when I got it tuned on ethanol at AEM and was 499whp. That was decent too.

      Heads and cam is pretty significant mods with a 6+ liter engine. Swapping heads and a cam isn't just simple bolt on stuff that is going into the engine.

      9.7@148. Trapped 150 one pass. Only ran 3 and really took it easy off the line and shifting. Not trying to break the trans or diff.

    Just curious how many miles did you’re car have when you purchased it and then how many do you have now after you’ve modded it as much as you have. I am looking to do the exact same build

      I have the dry sump. 10 quarts of oil. Gives me lots of pressure when I’m on the gas.
