Modern cars has a lot of sensors and camera's, and that data is send to the server of the manufacturer. Old cars can repaired by everyone. But what about modern cars, maybe some things can be repaired, but a lot not, especially the software is closed, and a lot of cars are connected. With an old car you was free, most modern cars you don't have control over the whole car, and you cannot controle the complete car. That is also with other software, if you don't have full control, you are not free.
