I was in Kensington yesterday, it isn't scouse, the people don't want to be scouse, they have their own culture, I was in Skelmsersdale last week, the people want to be scouse, their family are scouse, they're scouse, it's a bit like London, no one in Whitechapel or Mile End is cockney, a lot of people in Essex are, get with the times buddy.

Technically you're not from Liverpool if you're not from any area just outside of the city centre. Scouser is used more as a term to say, you've got a scouse accent but you could be from outer areas such as bootle or Huyton or somewhere like that. But to anyone who lives near town. If you're not from your local area's like Anfield, Kenny, Kirkdale, Everton, Dingle, all them areas surrounding town, North and South. You're classed as a wool really. She said she was born in Anfield so she was born in the heart of Liverpool, but she's spent the majority of her life over the water and other places. So her claim to be a Scouser could be disputed. Especially because her accent is diluted. If you know, you know.

A Scouser is born and raised in Liverpool, just like an Englishman is born and raised in England, just like a Parisian is born and raise in Paris, and so on. Just because you moved from where you were born and picked up some localised accent inflections doesn’t make you from that place or able to call yourself whatever word is used to describe those who actually are from there.
