Thank you. This was excellent advice on this topic. At present, I am mulling over whether I should invest any further energy in a relationship with a sibling who, in the past, repeatedly crossed boundaries, in highly abusive ways. I ended up going no contact with him for years, but he seems wiling to do some work in that area. However, there are some things he's said recently that have me wondering. I'll give it a little more time to see how things go.
Yes that is a difficult decision to make. Either way you go there are options for you to make the best of it.
It is so sad that I am not able to heal my parents. They would deserve it. The world would be a better place if more happy people lived in it. I am not satisified by just letting go and giving up, if we dont want to save and help the people we love when what do we do here in general? I try to approach them as insecure children or volatile teenagers who didnt get what they needed like stability, emotional attention and also, boundaries being installed. They never witnessed healty relationships being modelled by their own parents. I aspire to be the light in the world I want to see. Be the difference that makes the difference. If you can, please be the difference

Please avoid saying “it’s so simple” “it’s so easy”. If it was so simple and easy then why would we have thousands of books written on the subject and a saturated self-help market of videos explaining what and how to do it? Including yours? It’s very condescending and triggering to folks who were emotionally neglected for first 20 years of their lives. Oddly, this is exactly your audience.

This information is really good but I wish the music were not so overpowering and repetitive. It is very annoying.
