@Danijack1203 if i have any advice, it's try to keep them without a direct line of sight of eachother, like if both enclosures are side by side and the door is facing out the same way so they can't see eachother ALL the time, that is normally best, (especially if it's 2 males) i have mine in the same room and they're no more than 4-5 feet apart from eachother, without any problems! There are 2 popular options, incandescent and halogen, I've used both, it's really up to you which one you pick, they both generate lots of heat, the halogen is more of a spot though, while the incandescent might burn out a tiny bit faster, but they're cheaper, (i get mine at home depot for 4.50$ CAD)

Well they don't get pregnant by themselves, mine was pregnant about a year ago, then gave birth at the store, a month or so later, i just happened to pick that one 🤣 it shouldn't happen unless yours was also paired recently! Anywhoo, if you're not in Canada, i can't really help ya anyway 🤣

@MiztikAnimals , mine is quite docile and overweight. To help keep him tame, I feed him when he asks. He only eats out of a bowl, and when he starts rattling the bowl, I put fish in it for him. He eats about a half a pound a week. We're working on house training. When he needs to go outside, he stands in front of the door, and someone let's him out into the fenced yard. He has a kiddie pool he plays in in the yard. Rabbits hang out with him in the open grass.

Okay, that's pretty cool behavior you're describing! Would absolutely love to get Kyle that nice, but so far he only comes out when following my tongs, then eats, gets nervous, follows the next one, repeat until back in his cage, when there's no food, he wants to run & explore the cracks behind enclosures & stuff so, not the best thing, definitely will be trying him outdoors with a harness once the yard is fenced in!

​@@MiztikAnimalsdo niles require a uv heat lamp or can i get away with just UVB and a ceramic heat emitter? I thought i was doin everything right but now im seeing something about them needing uv(UVA)

I think full spectrum bulbs are good, but require is a strong word, do some testing with it if you want to, but I've never really noticed a difference, also my nile is next to a window & the blinds are open like 80% of the day

Comes super cheap, but there's definitely things for you to do when getting it. First, it doesn't come with a floor, so you're gonna need to buy some lumber to finish it off, then i also drylocked the interior with flex seal (to prevent rot), & then around 1000$ worth of decor, to really make it POP! 😁🔥 Wish you the best of luck with your nile, if ever you need any advice or just to chat about it, you should join our Discord!

@@MiztikAnimals another good trick is to use Hessian weed mat or fabric and use it like paper mashee , you basically cut it into strip's dunk it in cement drylock or tile adhesive and wrap it around the pool noodles, once it hardens you can build details on top more easily and you get a more realistic look.

I think the plan was to use grout for the finishing touches, but I'll look into this option too! 👀 still got a lot to do before we get there 🤣

The rule is normally about the size of the head per feeding, 3 times a week for monitors normally, my ackie eats every 2 days, 4-5 invertebrate prey like crickets or superworms, and when they're adults, go every 3 days & do bigger prey like roaches or pinkies/ silkworms & hornworms

@@MiztikAnimals oh sweet thanks for the info my plan is to make a custom 5x3x4 and add 6 inches of dirt with plenty of claimable objects and foam walls does that sound like a proper size and I’ll probably include 4-6 hide throughout the enclosure and I’ll start with one but after I might try two or three females cohabed together but I want experience with the animal first care guides can only do so much

Yeah, it's a really good-sized enclosure! I'd definitely recommend getting one first & when you introduce the 2nd, keep a GOOD eye on it. They could really do some damage/ maybe even kill eachother..
