Back to Weston for Lunch. Weather was a bit shit. Avoiding rain showers and some clouds. Landed in EICL for tea on the way home.

Rob flies a 172/182, a gentleman to have on board, and a great pilot. He took to the Skyranger with no issues. His smile on take off says it all.

Skyranger Classic, Swift II and Nynja - Belfast International Airport

From the Classic, Swift II, to the Nynja. All three models flew to Aldergrove today. Met up in EIHH (Navan), then onto EGAA (Belfast). Quick break for lunch, then on to Kernan, for a smaller runway expierence. Amazing day, with some good friends.

Three of us departed Limetree airfield in Portlaoise, for Cork International. Handling agent was Weston Aviation, who were amazing. Treated us like VIP's! Lovely flight. They haven't had Microlights in for years! Flying with some great people.

In Ireland it's legal for wires to run over the middle of an airstrip? If you have to go around at just the wrong spot you're going right into those wires
It's an unlicenced airfield. Not the sort of place anyone would just land into, you'd need to see it on the ground first or get a good briefing before you go there. If you got to go around, you need to be ready to make that decision early, or fly under them on the go around. It actually looks worse than it is. It's a 300m strip. I landed uphill, 17, and took off downhill 35. Minimal wind yesterday.

Well done, sir. I have parachuted into Crumlin, Dalkey and Drumcondra, but wouldn't fancy flying single-engine over that concrete jungle.
You'd have to aim for the liffey! We were high enough to glide to it.

Fab, great to see FXW in Snug Beag again. Nicely done, winds were v.gusty on your arrival. Footage is very impressive from that camera.
How does the throttle actuate from closed to open? Does it pivot/rotate about a point or does it slide fore/aft? The throttle design in this SkyRanger is different than other SkyRangers I’ve seen. Those had a throttle knob which translated fore/aft in a straight line on a long aluminum tube to open and close the throttle.
You are correct. The Classic has a different throttle. This is the Swift II model. It is different. If you check out the build manual, page 153 it says: The throttle assembly consists of a torque-tube supported by pivot bolts through mounting plates on either side of the fuselage. Friction is provided by clamping two nylon washers against either side of the plates on the port (Pilot) side lever. Page 155 shows you where the throttle cables are conected, that go through the firewall to the engine.
