    I love the fact you reused an old bed. That’s more like what’s in my budget at the moment. Times are rough right now for a self employed welder. I’m using a suburban and a trailer rig. Can’t wait to get me an old farm truck.

    You're doing great and I like that you are working with what you have. To many want to start at the top with a 100K rig. They all make the same money regardless. Like you, I prefer the rig that is marked "paid", that way I just need to do the hustle and not worry about all the payment. Keep burnin' them brother.

    How many hrs is considered wore out, for a welder generator?

    • @texasweldingdreams636
      @texasweldingdreams636 3 роки тому

      It Depends on which one you get. Like the Miller bobcats are only good for about 4000 to 5000 hours. I’ve seen these diesel ones like the classic 300s have over 10,000 hours on them and still running really good.

    • @s.weldingandfabrication4287
      @s.weldingandfabrication4287 3 роки тому

      Ive seen classic 2's and 3's with over 18,000hrs up here in PA still running. even over 4,000hrs on a 200 isnt unheard of if you took care of it. my 57 split hood has just under 5,000 and its runs like a top, rain or shine, cold or hot.

  • @JonDingle

    Here in England we have too much rain to have a welding rig like that. So I have converted an old cattle trailer as my mobile workshop! It's far from ideal but it work! Keep posting videos and your channel will grow and maybe someday you can get monetized to help your income? Top regards, Jon!

    • @texasweldingdreams636
      @texasweldingdreams636 4 роки тому

      So what do they guys do that run pipeline?

    • @JonDingle
      @JonDingle 4 роки тому

      @@texasweldingdreams636 The pipeline welders here operate out of vans where possible. I only work on farms doing repairs mainly. I have a small 200amp Honda pull start welder generator in my Ford Ranger if l need fully mobile power and for welding. Because England/UK is small we don't have a pipeline industry like you have in North America.

      @@texasweldingdreams636 that’s going to be fun. The last boat I repaired my fitter had to cut a 10x20 plate for the bottom that was rotted out. Had to weld from the inside and gouge the bottom to throw the bead in

      For sure. Spent 17!years almost in a structural shop then switched jobs to learn more. I’ve learned so much. Rig welder have to know a lot. Can’t just go out and weld and that’s it. Gotta have a lot of knowledge. Be able to weld all sorts of stuff in tough place as well as the nightmare jobs nobody else wants to do.

    What would you say the best advantage of your classic sae 300 is? I also have a 2019 Lincoln but mine is a sae 300 mp. Idk maybe it’s me but I don’t see the special thing about it. It doesn’t even have a polarity switch sometimes it makes me wish I would’ve gone with a pipe pro. Lol

    • @texasweldingdreams636
      @texasweldingdreams636 4 роки тому

      Gio Giovanni I have just liked the way they welded when I used them when I was a single hand welder. I prefer the gears over the Continuous current of the SAE 300. And it’s nice to have the option to hook up a suitcase welder directly to the machine. It would be nice to have a polarity switch like the pipe pro but it doesn’t really bother me not having it it would just be more convenient. How does that continuous current on the SAE 300 work? I’ve never messed with one before?

    • @giogiovanni9530
      @giogiovanni9530 4 роки тому

      Texas welding Dreams well for me it’s been pretty good. It’s nice to be able to fine tune that puddle. Honestly I’m still learning this machine like many other things. But that has always been one of my biggest questions is to what the big differences were... I’ve even been told “ nice red face” and I’m just like.. ehhh I’m not really sure it’s a red face since it’s not a 200 but Idk lol.
