Discriminatory treatment definitely sapped my confidence, specifically in math, specifically in the fourth grade in around 1970. I was in the “highest” math group bc of entry test scores, but it was during that year I was conditioned to being told the answer for a problem when what I asked for was how to solve it. I would repeat the question and the teacher said, “You’re not going to need math, so don’t worry about it.” Now, I had already been sexually molested, and I’d already been treated as a third class citizen, bc my parents were divorced AND I was a girl, so this was one heavy MF stone that I have always carried on my back, and contributed to a great deal of self hatred. Because that teacher would hand back my tests with failing grades and always say, “Well, I can see you don’t understand this!” I’ve had a horrible issue with math ever since, mostly terror and a mental block....unless I know the answer. Then I can figure it out. These lessons make horribly deep, painful wounds, in spite of academic and professional and personal success, in spite of decades of therapy.

Well done April Ashley. It just proves how much more society has become tolerant to give a transgender person this social position.

What a joke! April has an "aura" of pure Evil & sHe robbed every house in America she begged in tears to be taken into as a charity case. In May 2005 she joined her wretched karma to the scam by the Queens gangster Christopher Gibbs (owns 50% of th Rolling Stones) and American gangster Dina Merrill to murder & rob poor sweet Paul Getty of the $4Billion inheritance he left in his Will to one of their victims ~ as a mercy. When Dina informed the cabal the calumny & subornation were bogus, baseless & w/ sinister ulterior motives 50 of the 86 conspirators returned the loot in horror ~ not April Ghastly though! Doctor of merciless hypocrisy w/ a flat full of stolen family heirlooms she's swiped from her benefactors in her far from Royal progress ~ ugh! . . .

Tad Vague I do hope you have gathered evidence and are ready to take the stand in a court of law. Elsewise this could be construed as libellous.

I quite understand how much the university is doing towards their commitment to diversity and equality. However i recognise what i would call subtle discrimination in various departments of the University. Postgraduate students from countries whose educational system is not as strong as Europe are often seen and treated with some level of contempt. Your Professor doesn't think you are serious becuase your does not have certain skills which the "Home" student has and he is not ready or doing anything to help. We pay the double of what the "Home and EU" students pays but recieves less attention than everyone else. In HR when we apply for jobs, the fact that we may not speak or write as much English as our "Home and EU" colleagues are not considered and that could explain why there are less than 2% non "Home and EU" staff in my department. You can do more to improve on what you are doing already. Thank you
