Jefferson Carriage House: One of the BEST Fried Chicken Buffets?
I wish I'd known ya'll had this project going on. I've got a whole gallon of acetone with your name all over it. Just need a few SOS dollar general pads and you would have had that van cleaned in probably half the time it took ya with the rubbing alcohol. I use to hate having to remove those letter filming on the concrete trucks I worked on. But we got her done. Plus, Daddys old camper might have some essentials ya'll could use in your Van Life Build. Mattresses, DC Light fixtures, Gas Stove, Cabinet Draws. But it is an OLD Camper. like late 70's early 80's.
Trust me, there's still a lot left to do, but yeah, that acetone would have been handy!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 We just ordered a mattress last night because we're going to at least try to have it sleep ready by Christmas to take to Washington. We're in the process of finishing up insulating now. Thank you for offering though! We really appreciate it. I'd hold onto that camper for the time being if I were you. There are a lot of people looking for solid vintage campers to do the same thing we're going. I love you, bro. Thank you for watching and commenting and always having my back. ❤
Can’t wait to see the final product!!
We starting working on it again this weekend to at least get it sleepable by Christmas....😅 Thank you so much for watching and commenting! ❤❤❤
Hola my friend! Y'all got a job cut out for y'all😮 Good luck on that new chapter. God bless❤💃🙏🌹🇺🇸 Go Dawgs
I agree! It's both intimidating and exciting!!! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! ❤❤❤
It’s unrecognizable! As a child, almost every year ,my family camped there the last week in July thru the first week in august. There wasn’t any grass (other than sea oats), neither were there any bushes. There was sand, gravel roads, shallow well pump showers (only later were they enclosed, outhouses and wind. The green eye flies and mosquitoes were intense! Dune side camp site were the only ones with enough wind blowing to make it bearable. You had to go to the ranger station on silver lake to get potable water. No alcohol, no air conditioning (other than in a couple of motels). You bought block ice at Jacks store. The community store was right next to Jack’s. I think the Howard’s owned it the last time I was there. The campground is unrecognizable. Why would anyone go to Ocracoke to have a lawn? Years ago and years ago the park service said they wouldn’t maintain the road or campground. There were still dune fences tho they weren’t being replaced. There third loop of the campground came much later. I’m flabbergasted!
Who was the black woman on the billboard? You quickly moved your phone.
The grave site at 14:17 is the Blank family's. Author Blank, co-founder of the Home Depot and owner of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United FC of Major League Soccer. Author will be placed in the middle crypt.
Well, that's really cool! Thanks for pointing that out!!! And thank you so much for watching and commenting! We appreciate it!
Been there at night definitely creepy i know theres a mass grave out there also
There's a few places like that we've been to that there's no way I'd be able to convince Tommy to stay the night at... That place and Friendship Church in Iva, SC, are two of them! 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you so much for watching and for commenting!
I can't tell you how happy I was to see your video pop up in my feed! I know the channel name is about travels, but I'm here through everything, even if it's not travel reviews and stuff! I'm waiting to plant our garlic - worried we might still have too much warm to have them last and then produce, so we'll see. Might pop them in pots. LOL Safe travels!
Thank you so much for sticking with us and for watching and commenting! It means the world! If we had waited any longer, there wasn't going to be another opportunity, so it's in God's hands now and we will hope for the best, but the climate is different up there and they actually get a true fall and usually a real winter, so we're optimistic that it's going to all work out and if it doesn't, you live and you learn! ❤❤❤
I'm glad to see ya'll still kicking. A Soil Buster would have helped immensely with that hard packed ground. At least it would have gotten it to where the discs would have busted up a great deal better. Far as getting busy and only having time to do certain things, you know I have my hands full as well, and now with my brother living up here with us, things should have gotten easier but they haven't. But we have to do what we can to keep the ball spinning. Ya'll please slow down when you can and take care of yourselves. Life has a way of slowing us down when we find it inconvenient. It's that time that we see the value of rest. Love Ya'll.
We love you and your beautiful partner and appreciate the way you guys always stick with us. A pull behind tiller will definitely be bought before next time and I'm pretty sure, a plow also. We're hoping that the New Year gets us back on track with traveling or just mixing things up a bit between travel and the projects so fingers crossed. Love you, brother!
❤ was wondering where you were
Thank. you so much for sticking with us! It's been a wild ride and we're trying to keep on top of everything. We appreciate the support. Thank you so much also for watching and commenting. It means a lot!❤❤❤

Hello!!! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Well I am so glad to see y'all. Y'all just keep doing what y'all doing and we're always waiting to watch a video so keep us update And good luck to baby and Mama❤
Thank you so much for always being loyal and sticking with us!! We appreciate and love you so much! ❤
Those burgers looked delicious!!!! I love that you get to pick your own toppings! Thanks for sharing! 👍🏼👍🏼😋😋
They definitely lived up to the hype and we recommend trying that place out if you're ever in the Cary NC area! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! ❤
I am fortunate in that I get to travel regularly and to some pretty nice places, I enjoy our stays at Big Lynn more than any place we travel to in the US. Hoyt and Kelly are terrific, rooms are always clean, food is good, views are great. When you talk to other visitors , you realize it is a place where people return to over and over again.
We couldn't agree more!!! Thank you for watching and commenting!
What a delightful walk through some family histories! It still makes me wonder if some grave stone rubbings could be done to reveal letters you can't see well. But if you sent through that trouble, then you might want to dive into their history too. I guess that's a rabbit hole you may not want to go down... LOL
I read somewhere, that if you make up stories about gravestones and their inhabitants without knowing the full truth, that the next week you'll be visited by snakes in your sleep with the faces of those inhabitants.
Where is this?
McCormick SC
Great video guys. So many babies here 🥺 very beautiful location though. AND You guys are great cemetery detectives 🧐😆 love it!
Thank you so much! It took a couple of years but I finally got Tommy where he's actively interested in cemetery warndering! Thank you so much for watching!❤
Hello everyone what an amazing day! Headstones are amazing just wonderful Hope everyone's doing well❤
Hello sweet friend!! We are well and hope you are too!!! ❤❤❤❤
@@TravelswithTommyandLori Pretty as a peach y'all take care 🌹
25:00 That's Benjamin Butler, Major General on the Union side. He really pissed off the South while he was in New Orleans. He passed some law that targeted southern women and allowed Union soldiers to treat them like prostitutes. He was also stealing sugar from New Orleans and trying to sell it for personal gain on a ship around New York?? He got busted. That's awesome that someone was putting his image in a chamber pot 😆
My hometown, thanks for stopping by. A lot of history here for such a small town.
We absolutely love it there! It's one of our favorite towns to visit. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Well hello my people! Yes it looks delicious. I'm glad y'all got a good burger because it is hard to find a good one Hello to your mom and dad❤

Thank you so much!
I grew up going to this church and yes before they built the stone church there was a log structure that was used as the school house and church
I’ve always loved this place and have wished multiple times that I could have seen the original structure. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Well you’re welcome im sorry for commenting before finishing the video i see that you included that info I remember playing In the graveyard when i was kid it was always eerie I honestly miss going to church there I live in Wisconsin now my ma dooley (great grandma) Grandma June getting after use for playing in the headstones brings a smile to me I can still smell the pews and remember the prayers as I wa busy playing with my toy cars I’m glad I stumbled on the video it was a great trip down memory lane you’re welcome and I’m now a new subscriber
@@nicholasmcdonald5875 one of the reasons I love doing this is connecting with the people who lived or grew up in the places we visit. Your story makes it personal to me and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your sharing it. That place was always special to me after I moved here from NC almost 30 years ago, but your story and experience added to it and now when I visit that place, I’ll think about the little boy playing with his cars. Thank you for that. ❤
@@TravelswithTommyandLori I’m happy to ad the experience fun little fact the out house is still used there is no indoor plumbing or ac just a couple of ceiling vans and hand fans are in every pocket with the psalm books and bibles and it’s is heated by gas heat and the road to the church has only been paved for the last 10 or so years give or take
I am thinking aboot going . What was price of the motel . Please let me know. Have a good day.
Our room was $130/per night. But for that view, I don’t think you’d find a better deal!!
Enjoyed your humor, and we will be there Sept 29 for a week, thank you
I love Charleston. It's my favorite city.
It was our first time. I’d like to spend a few days there next time.

Thank you so much!!
My dad took me there when I was like 10 years old and I remember it so well
It’s a very cool place and so well done! Thank you so much for watching!!
That first plane looked like an A10 Warthog. But that's not what the plaque read. Hmmm Now this is a way to get me to that beach
I can't believe you found something new in myrtle Beach.
You would have enjoyed that park. Especially the WW2 memorial. It was well done.
Wow, those lots are on top of each other.
Pepsi truck on first ferry, Coca-Cola on second lol. I'd be looking for the Dr. Pepper truck. 😂
Oh wow! That was so awesome that they did that for your anniversary! 29 years! Congrats 🎉
It was such a thoughtful gesture! Thank you! We love you! ❤
Going to admit something sad. I always thought Blackbeard was more of a myth than a real person. Guess I need to read up on him. I mean, come on. Pirates here? Our Navy was founded to hunt down pirates!
He gave them a run for their money. Apparently they chased him for years but more than that, I read somewhere that no one could 100 percent guarantee it was him that they eventually caught because all they had were drawings of him and there were multiple imposters.
Sweet kitty!
Can't understand anything Tommy is saying
I've never heard of most of that fish. I laugh every time you said redrum

@@nonyadambusness5158 Tommy had forgot the microphones at home for the entire trip. Yes, I was pretty irritated about that. Especially when he kept turning away and talking and I was like, “I can’t hear you over the wind so I know no one else can…”
Lol😂 why are the stairs moving too? I almost fell out of my chair 😂😂

@@TravelswithTommyandLori Good Morning My Beautiful people hope y'all enjoying Life as always ❤️🙏
Awesome trip. No ghost hunting this time? 😁
Are you guys on a cruise ship?
I wish!!! But no, it's the NC DOT ferry, which honestly could totally double a great day cruise! The one from Hatteras to Ocracoke is free and the one from Ocracoke to Cedar Island (this video) was $8, I think, for a standard vehicle. Both would make excellent day trip excursions! Love you, auntie!!
