Sunface
Приєднався 28 тра 2015
Sunface is a band from the woods of Akershus, Norway that plays cosmic Stoner rock.
The band released the album Observatory, in December 2016. Which was well received locally and internationally. It was placed 18# on the Doom Charts the same month.
With a wall of speaker cabinets, fuzz pedals, hard hitting and groovy drums, Sunface is keeping the spirit of the 60's and 70's alive in a modern form. And with atmospheric melodies and heavy riffs hand in hand, Sunface delivers a great live experience, sure to bring audiences along for the trip.
"Heavy Spaced Out Stoner Riffs that contains a mighty fine selection of heavy moments."
- Outlaws Of The Sun
"Sunface fill every nook and cranny of "Observatory" with dark swirling swathes of doom-tinted refrains, supported by complex rhythmic patterns and gnarly bass lines, that are then coated in gloriously gothic type vocal melodies that although are not always an easy listen are nonetheless a rewarding one."

Saw a lot these bands back in the day. Met the Nebula guys and they were such arrogant rockstar pricks. Fu Manchu with Brant was the best.
Garcia seems like he cant hit the note you should take lessons from me.....
Great time capsule of awesomeness.
In a perfect world these bands (qotsa not withstanding) would have blown up instead of nu metal but I'm also glad it didn't. Also Eddie Glass rips! Also, also, Rock in Peace Frank Kozik!
Greg Anderson.....a boogie van. Fuck Yeah!
*you can leave my friend and be with fond adieu
This is from a short lived mail away VHS line called TV Eye Video Mag. They only did two and a third on DVD years later. This was the first. I remember ordering it and thinking Matt Pike was the coolest musician ever!
Im gonna be the guy to say the cliche, how did yall get Matt Pike to put a shirt on?
This is Platinum.
scott reeder is a fucking monster!
2002..when qotsa was on their peak!
Excellent!
Never geard High on Fire. They sound so much like Black Pyramid, I had to look to see if any of the members were in both bands. It seems Black Pyramid is a clone. Still good, though. And I think I actually like High on Fire more. I'm a bit late to the scene. Can you tell? > ;)-
does anyone have a comprehensive list of all the bands featured here im high as shit
All these bands are great, and all equally shred! High on Fire, Nebula, and QOTSA in particular, such great hooks and rock so hard!
Great upload. Pretty sure this came out in 2000.
R.I.P Frank Kozik
Anyone got the name of the Nebula song from the live footage??
Rolling my way to freedom.
Best DS tune opens the doc? This is going to be good.
Super fuzz
.........Big Muff.......
@@RoryLynott are you sick?
@@AlexanderSupertramp1 Well maybe, if ya touch me, lol
Nebula kills it. Especially when he breaks it down at the end
Wow that early Queens footage is really special. I saw them around that time. Costa Mesa 98. And seen Kyuss many times beforehand. Josh is really incredible here. Vocally, guitar. These were some good times!
gene trautman and dave catching. I didn't even know this line up existed
this footage is from 2000/2001
It's like a trip to the desert's past. All these stoner bands that emerged from the California underground scene and are now either broken up, successful, or made it with other acts/projects, we took for granted. Man's Ruin was an underrated label and Frank Kozik was like the George Lucas of the underground scene, in the fact that he exposed all this lesser known talent at the time to newfound fame. What a time this was to be alive.
Man's ruin was never underrated. They were loved by all who knew of them. They were under recognized for sure but perfectly rated
The second volume of this is based on NW bands, like Mudhoney and Murder Right Devils. Its amazing and if you dig this, you will feel the same way about Volume 2 .
Hey humans, can anybody tell me from which song the drum outro sequence played by goatsnake in this video is from?
If you’re talking about the song they’re playing live, That would be the song Trower. Eighth track off of their first album, I. The studio version goes on a bit of a different journey, but trust me, it’s sick. I believe it will show up on most streaming services these days as i Plus dog days as it’s paired with the dog Days Ep. If you’re talking about the studio track that comes in after that and pans from the left and then widens to fill the stereo field, with the slower swinging groove and those deep guitars, that is the song Flower of Disease off of The album of the same name. I hope this helps! Let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Cheers!
@@SKY_DWELLER333 hi. Meanwhile I discovered the song myself. But thanks mate. 🙂
That T.V. Eye opener is a killer!
20 years went by way too fast.
Is Kozik still around? This is a historical artifact, at this point. Made me want to get a Challenger! Ahh I forgot about George and Matt heckling Dale. Classic!
Yes, he is around 58 years old.
No.. he passed away just recently... a month or two ago... RIP Frank
George Rice was so fuckin badass. Best HOF
Any idea how I'd could contact this band?
thöse where the times. lots of good stvff.
TBH out of all these bands and the clips that we see here, QOTSA is the only one that's not absolutely unlistenable crap
Wtf do you mean they all kicked ass
Interviewer lady is sexy af
Dale crover interviewing high on fire fuck yeah
And I think Matt drives an El Camino now LoL
Rolling my way to freedom!

Never though I would see soup on a rock documentary that’s pretty sick
Thought*
what’s the intro song?
Tv eye by the stooges
Scott Reeder is just a shit hot bassist - full stop.
Glad that Nebula is back, Eddie Glass is a criminally underrated guitarist.
Amazing musician
NEBULA is a real deal!
Yeeeees fu man chu
Think I am gonna go and introduce my neighbours to Flower Of Disease - they must be loving this quarantine situation 😂🤣😂 Voices in my head...
hello
Phodästic Stoner Rock DOC 💀♠️🎸🎶🇧🇷
wow, great doc. from the golden years, before we had a million doom/stoner/sludge bands forming everyday and flooding bandcamp. funny thing:just today someone asked me to name my favorite singers, i mentioned Erica Stoltz, because she now plays in a superb trio called Sanhedrin, half classic doom and half classic 80s underground metal. she's right here, in this vid. ultra mega OK!
Sanhedrin is incredible. Such an awesome band.
So it’s a good thing we have all these new bands cause then we wouldn’t have Sanhedrin
Damn.... Goatsnake goes hard! I saw Fu Manchu a couple years ago... one of the best nights of my life!!!!
So gooooooood! www.reverbnation.com/thelesdillinger/song/30648602-swither-and-floor-dogs-go-funking
Pretty pretty cool.
Got this on DVD many years ago just for Goatsnake.
My band Audiobon opened for Nebula at Reggie’s Rock Club in Chicago. I’m guesstimating it to be around 10 plus years ago but still a memorable experience. I got turned on to them not long after seeing Fu Manchu play at the Fireside Bowl back around 93-94, which was also in Chicago. I had no idea who they were but instantly became a fan. They were my foray into Stoner Rock and opened the door for me to then get into Nebula, Kyuss, and Clutch. Good times back then. I still love the sound.
DUde, I remember Audiobon. Great band man! I have Heavy Hum. Gonna through it on in a bit! 🤘🤘
