You would need to know the current, then you would have to back figure based on voltage and current to get resistance. I’m not sure why one would do this, the spec is not written in ohms.
You will need to check the service manual for your exact sled, you could also call your local dealer and they should be able to tell you that specification.
A good aftermarket tool is not that expensive and makes it even easier, especially if you do this often. Example showing the same plug as this TPS: ua-cam.com/video/HuKy5Hp496U/v-deo.html
Matt, I totally agree! Sometimes people don't want to spend the $160 to do this job once. I had all of the materials readily available and was able to accomplish what I needed the same day without waiting for the tool and spent a lot less. One the flip side, if you are doing this often, absolutely the tool is the way to go and would be worth the investment at that point.
@@MrNcotton quick tip, use your meter to check the output of your USB wall wart. They are often 5v-ish, not bang on 5v. Once you know the input voltage, you can do some math to calculate the proper output voltage for your input voltage.
great vid bro. about to adjust/calibrate tps on my 2014 pro rmk with the help of this video and another one. one thing I found interesting, was my manual, it suggests introducing a 12 VDC battery to charge the system, while in your video, you introduced 5 VDC. Will this affect the readings from the multimeter when checking the TPS? hope that made sense
Thanks so much for the advice and tips. I did this to my TPS for my 2009 rmk 700 it worked really well and saved me lots of time and money. Thanks a lot again!👍🏼
Typical BRP. They are second to last in quality. There's only one worse and that's the Chinese atv's. Here's my list in order of Quality in my opinion. Best to worse. Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki/Arctic cat, Kawasaki, Polaris, BRP/Can am, Chinese. I work on them all for a living except the Chinese one's and I politely decline.. BRP outboard's are junk too.
Walleye Willy Working on them I would agree. Hate working on BRP/Can-Am. But quality of product is easily one of the best. Haven't come across a person in my rides yet that doesn't wish they could get one.
Walleye Willy Suzuki/Polaris and artic cat are junk in my opinion.... My 2013 canam commander is going strong with minimum trouble.. Let's see the others high on your list do that?
My wife and I bought an 800 DPS and a 1000X in March of 2013. I put a soft cab on the 800 and drive it to work everyday, even when its -17 in Wyoming, that's what I drive! I just turned 5000 miles on the 800...still running stock belt and Maxxis 2.0 tires! Both of these machines have been completely problem free. We take them across the desert, (400-500 miles in a weekend), and run on the highway if need be up to 73mph with the 1000. We get up to 20 mpg in the and 24 mpg in the 800. BTW, the both fit front to back in our toy hauler. I wouldn't buy any other machine.
*Good job!* this is the best video i've seen on the Commander. You are correct in saying a video was due. I purchased my X in April of 13. I love it. Im a converted Rhino owner. I loved my Rhino but Commander teaches you a whole new respect for machines. Again.. Great job! murrayjcraig.com #canam #commander #rhino #walkaround
I have the same, minus the plow (not much use for a snowplow in FL...LOL) As for trail, it is awesome, handles great, ride is better than any sxs I tried. The power is great, mud up on the hunt lease in GA was my concern, not an issue, even in 2WD mode, water was not an issue but then I traditionally do not like to subject the machine to unnecessary water, I did go with a hard roof and a half windshield as well as a set of LED driving lights (Cree 4 LED in was, one on each side) plus mirrors.
Sport Mode was developed because they found that riding through rough trails caused the rider to push the throttle down continually while driving through rough terrain thus causing the bike to jerk making the ride very uncomfortable. When the Machine is out of Sport Mode, it would lesson the response time by a split second making a smother ride overall. Once on back roads, you engage the Sport Mode and it will respond immediately. Works great. Nothing to do with power of the machine!! 13:55
you said if your familiar with the polaris model with an overide switch so you can go faster in reverse..do you know if the polaris rzr800 has one? because i have a rzr800 and i love it but the reverse just revs high instead of going fast...
Thanks for this video ! I tryed it myself to night and i work perfect. Thanks from Sweden
Nicely Done. Clear video footage and Narration, right down to disconnect procedure. Am working on same sled Myself. Thank You! 12.24.23
Thank you, glad it helped!
Hey man great video. Having trouble with '07 arctic cat z1 4 stroke. Will This rig work for it? Like to hear your thoughts on that. Thanks
Quality
Awesome video man, thanks
Instead of doing voltage, couldn't you do resistance?
You would need to know the current, then you would have to back figure based on voltage and current to get resistance. I’m not sure why one would do this, the spec is not written in ohms.
Where do i find the correct voltage i have to adjust mine to? Got a polaris rmk 600 ho 2008
You will need to check the service manual for your exact sled, you could also call your local dealer and they should be able to tell you that specification.
Would I be able to just loosen the screws, adjust it then test drive to see if it is better
I do not recommend doing that.
I mean it’s possible you get lucky and get it close enough but not recommend…. You want it right in spec.

No worries @MrNcotton, Matt is a shill for TPS tool

It’s very likely that yours is different… I am not sure how different but it is 12 years newer that mine. Does it give a procedure in the manual?
Thanks so much for the advice and tips. I did this to my TPS for my 2009 rmk 700 it worked really well and saved me lots of time and money. Thanks a lot again!👍🏼
Glad it worked out!
Thanks for the help this worked for my 900
Hey I’m glad to hear it. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Very informative video I just got a 800XT
Very informative and well done.

Great video detail but to improve it get a better camera and a more steady video tapper, but a great video none the less
Terrible camera. Blair witch project.

sorry for the late reply, no we have not had it on the trails yet, its more of our work horse around home, plowing snow and what not
i just go the same one its awesome
wow what a beaut!
Have you had it on the trails yet? If so how does it do? Looked at the Commander yesterday, very nice machines.

nice...its worth the money its a nice machine
Around 17 but it has some things that make it a little more expensive like the camo and it is the xt version. we added a radio too
ok thanks and hey if u dont mind me asking how much was that commander?
im not exactly sure about the rzr. i know the quads have a yellow push button that you hold while in reverse.
you said if your familiar with the polaris model with an overide switch so you can go faster in reverse..do you know if the polaris rzr800 has one? because i have a rzr800 and i love it but the reverse just revs high instead of going fast...
Great walk through! The only way it could of been better would of been to show this in the daylight.
Damn straight man.
Need a roof, doors, an half wind deflector bro.
