Just want to say WOW on the atmosphere of this whole show. Every scene had so much action and felt so real! What a committed ensemble. No one looked bored; everyone had something interesting to do at all times. The construction workers and choreography during Mama Says were genius! 👏👏👏

Those kids are awesome, stunning, amazing. Literally chills. It can be seen that those kids have a lot of potential and let’s face it Les Mis is hard as hell to sing properly and hit every note. It’s obvious that their voices are not yet fully developed and we can’t expect teenagers to have voices of fully grown adults. Anyway their performance was stunning and I absolutely loved the dancing additions. The idea to make Javert and Valjean reconcile after their deaths is something I always missed in the original show and I am glad that someone finally did it. The Grantaire part during the ABC Cafe pure comedic gold. I am surprised no one has really done such things before. Whoever directed this show made a lot of amazing decisions which made watching this musical different than every other high school edition… I wish all the best to the actors and everyone involved in the production of this musical ❤

I am a big fan of Les Misérables and have seen it professionally staged four times, viewed the 10th and 25 anniversary concert productions as recorded at the Royal Albert Hall, London, and watched the movie version plus videos of at least 25 school productions. It is a huge project for a school to mount and most, as as one would expect, are like curates egg's, a mixture of good and bad. I regret having to say I found this one absolutely awful, with almost no redeeming features. So let me point to one of the very best school productions, albeit available only in fairly low quality video. It was produced in 2013 by the Royal Grammar School, Wycombe, England (tuition free, as is your school). It is an all-boys high school and included girls from three other schools in the surrounding area. The video is easily found on UA-cam. To illustrate just one example of superior acting and singing, take a look at the fine performance of "On My Own", which carries genuine emotion. In my view the failure of the ALA production rests primarily with the direction rather than the students.

Eponine was perfectly cast as the street urchin....believable emotions and angst regarding Marius....great vocals too!

Hi! I just stumbled into this. I'd like to say that Fantine's progression on I dreamed a Dream is *chef's kiss* EVEN with the pre-recorded songs and speacilly with their teens (they look like teens, at least) Val Jean has a powerful voice and I lowkey wanted to see him as Javert (stars would be interesting) Master of the House is a banger, always a banger (idk about the tiktok dances, though). Highlight to Ms. Thenadier that got a bit metal by the end of it, I liked the female rage of having a sub-par husband, fits. Eponine is awesome, that's all. Perfect casting Marius and Cosette are love, they are life. Congrats to everyone involved, great job!!

Just WOW!! The young man who sang my favorite song “ Bring him home” is simply PHENOMENAL!! Bravo to him and the entire cast. Amazing performances by all. 👏🏼👏🏼🥰

Even if the singing is sometimes a little lacking (it’s mostly good though) I really love this version because the acting is great and the choices by the director (I suppose) are really cool!

Not sure why you have identical videos listed for 2 different casts, but since this is identical to the "Red" cast, the same comments apply... In case you missed it, I am OCD enough to retype it here. To start, I liked the dancing interpretations. The prison guards never hit nor shoved the inmates. They did threaten ONE person ONE time with the stock of a rifle, but never actually struck him. So that was ostentatiously over the top display of sadistic cruelty. The tattoo business was out of line and should not be done. The prisoners in the book and movie version were branded, but obviously that doesn't need to be done. Tattoo is unnecessary because we know whom Valjean is, and we know his serial numbers, even though they call the letter O and not the number Zero. And it's plain and clear even if one never heard the lyrics before. It's best to not show tattoo because it is a grotesque & nauseating permanent disfigurement that was deliberately done, again, a particular sadistic cruelty and an enjoyment of masochist, so it seems. And to conclude this paragraph, I will say that while I did enjoy the opening, I was horrified to see a packed house of a big Covid fest. The pandemic is not gone, and people need to stop pretending it is. Next: Entire stanzas were cut from Valjean's Soliloquy. The actor shows he is strong enough to sing those lines and you did not give him the chance to prove it and WOW the audience. It's what people want to hear. Why would you cut out entire stanzas ? "Once upon a time, they lived happily ever after." How much sense does that make ? If you're concerned about the time, then wait until you get to the second act and use the Love Montage of I Saw Him Once, In My Life, A Heart Full of love. That arrangement says it all without all the boring monotonous redundancy. It saves a good ten minutes. Back tracking a bit, I noticed a lot of saliva flying about. That's not the problem. The problem is the people in the front row. Again, we still have a global pandemic and this isn't the time for people to be exposed to other peoples germs. Vaccines do not work, it's been proven they don't work, and there was an admission from those that said they did work they don't. And I am not trying to argue politics. The facts are, this isn't the time to be exposing people to other people's effervescence. At The End Of The Day you changed lyrics to the song. Why ? The word is bitch, not witch. It's technically a female dog Get over it. If they're not mature enough to handle it, then don't do it at all. This P.C. BS has no place in theater. You dumbed down Lovely Ladies for some reason. You know, the red light district where women are selling themselves is a desperate situation. It's not rainbows, unicorns, and cupcakes. You seemed to have a problem with and changed the sailor from calling one person a who re (You Tube censors) but you had no problem when Javert called all of them the same word. Explain that logic. Point being, STOP CHANGING LYRICS to suit the religious nutjobs. It's THEATER not the religious cults known as a church. Skipping ahead... In Look Down, you changed Gavroche's lyrics to the lyrics from that HORRIBLE 2012 movie for some reason. Those are NOT the lyrics for the musical. What are you trying to do ? If you're going to mimic something then mimic the good stuff, not the total crap that's out there. Oy GEVALT ! Oh, let me guess, you changed his lyrics because you didn't want him to say "hell" I'll bet he's said much worse. Hell is not profane and even if it is, SO WHAT ? IT'S THEATER ! Not sure why you had Grantaire sing "It's better than an opera" in falsetto. Are there no male opera singers ? Again, it was not writ that way. I have been listening to this musical since I first learned of it, in 1987 and have been obsessed with it, and NONE of the versions have Grantaire singing his lines in falsetto. Let me guess, you wanted to distract people from the "abstinence" of what would be considered by the prudes as an obscene gesture, right ? I liked Marius because he kind of reminded me of myself when I was 13. He looked exactly like me. It was kind of eerie but not in a bad way. I haven't been 13 since 1989 and so obsessed with this musical I adopted the pseudonym "Michael Javert" for Internet use. Moving on to One Day More, the orchestration was one of the worse ones. I listen for the nuances and the triangle struck in the orchestration that was used in the London cast was the best, so I have no idea why it was changed to this insufferably awful version. That is not an opinion, that's a fact. The London orchestration was better. To say it is the BEST would be an opinion but to say it is better is a FACT. Also, Javert's lines... The first verse of his lines should sing "One day more to revolution, we will nip it in the bud, I will join these little schoolboys, they will wet themselves with blood...) The subsequent times he sings that line he should then sing "... We'll be ready for..." Baffled as to why you changed the gender of Courfeyrac. Maybe taking affirmative action too far ? You'll have to explain that one if you want me to understand. You cut entire paragraphs from The Sewers too. And the worst sin of this Brobdingnagian monstrosity is Javert's Suicide. He got all the words right but for whatever reason, the orchestra was playing Valjean's Soliloquy. Those are two different songs. I don't understand the logic. They have been using that HORRIBLE arrangement since the 25th Anniversary in Concert and it's not as good. It is drab, boring, and it's fine for Valjean's soliloquy, as it is where it is supposed to be, but not for Javert's suicide. If that had been done correctly, it MIGHT have been a reprieve to earn an upvote but all it did was seal the fate for a down vote. Also, when you're doing the ending to Javert's Suicide, look at Drew Sarich, and Norm Lewis. That's the way it should be ended except for the final note. Hold onto it like Roger Allam in the London cast. Match your final note to the orchestra's final note and hold it. Let the sound engineer add the echo, reverb, blend and fade it as to sound like you're falling into the abyss. Also, don't mean to single anyone out but, some of the characters were very good, including the main characters and some of the main characters were not as good as they likely could have been. For example, "Growling" instead of singing, or perhaps someone's allergies were in an upheaval... Some of it is excusable but other parts have no excuse, like the butchering of entire songs, and the screwing around with lyrics because "GOD FORBID" you outrage some prude. For some reason Thénardier's lines "Here comes a prince, there goes a Jew, this one's a queer, but what can you do ?" was cut. Why ? As a Jew, it's not offensive. My friend, that happens to be gay informs me that queer is also not offensive. What do you think the letters LGBTQIAA are ? Alphabet soup ? Really... and again IT IS THEATER ! Otherwise, the Thénardiers were great. In conclusion, if you're just a poster of this and not a producer, please print up this comment and show it to the producers so they can know where they're going wrong. I've only been kvetching about this since 2011 which is about when it seemed to all went wrong. These massacres and butcheries are what killed the dreams I dream for a musical I once loved. Total ruination. It seems like the stones I cast are building up the barricade that closes their mind. As if they don't care that it has been total crap since.

I’m so happy to see this musical getting more recognition. It deserved a much longer run on Broadway. 💚
