Transform Your Original Super Nintendo Controller with the 8BitDo Mod Kit
so 2 things, one, I bet if you got an airport extreme you could hook that up to your modem/router and it would probably see that fine. If you didn't want to do it wifi, you could probably connect your ethernet to the airport and it would work. again. The other thing, is nowadays finding a browser that will navigate the modern web. I recently got an old blue and white g3 minitower going and found Classilla (sp?) for 9.2.2 works, and in osx (tiger is the max) InterwebPPC is dencent. I think it's possible to compile another browser from the source code in osx but it's easier to have a browser that just works. I watched a few different videos from ActionRetro and he got LInux and OpenBSD going on various older macs such as this one. I don't know all the games that are ported for BSD or Linux but I'm sure there are plenty that may run. the hard part these days I also found, is getting a *nix OS that is still supported for 32bit PPC processors. so OpenBSD, NetBSD, Adelie Linux, and a few others work. Even if the OS has been stopped getting full-updates, certain versions of lInux have community versions that are still going. I think Debian is once such case. Anyway, although these machines can't quite be daily drivers, it depends on what your intentions are. I have a 2018MBP I use every day, and a couple PC's instorage that are not too old, that will run windows or any version of the *nix's. I also have a tangerine iMac in the garage that I hope the fall it took in storage elsewhere didn't destroy it, and I can get it running again for fun.
Nice work! You picked it up for a solid price! It's a fun little remake for sure, it's a shame it wasn't released worldwide. I hope you enjoy the game and thank you so much for checking out the channel!
Cant beat retro gaming!..this one is very Outrun! 👍
For sure! It's pretty unforgiving in the later levels but it's a ton of fun!
1/8th of a turn worked for me too, thanks so much <3
No problem and glad it worked for you! Thanks so much for checking out the channel!
Worked for me!
Awesome, glad it worked for you! Game on!
You do realize about 97% of people have zero clue how to do this even with your video right? So here's a better fix when that happens you ready.......BUY A NEW GAME
Younger me, having no access to soldering equipment, just pried the battery off the metal brackets and put a new one in there, worked for like 9 years
Wow, that's great that it held up for that long. Definitely a solid option if you're in a pinch.
Fantastic tutorial! Learned something new today. And you did pretty good on the soldering. I'd have ya as a helper. Take it easy Brother!
Thank you very much! Happy to hear that I'm getting a little bit better. I think it might be time to invest in a decent soldering iron setup.
Great tutorial. My Pokemon Yellow died last year... I need to buy the proper size that you mention(1616) as I only have a bundle of 2032s for NES games. They work, but the fit is way too snug. Flux makes everything easier!
Thank you very much and best of luck on your copy of Pokemon Yellow! I'm going to use more flux going forward for sure!
I’ve had a pre owned slim since 2010 worked up until 2021 man I loved that thing just purchased a fat ps2 with a modded hard drive I’m definitely gonna play the hell out of that thing
Awesome! You should get plenty of years out of your replacement PS2. Thanks for checking out the video!
I really cannot make a judgement based on the footage. The fact that white balance was off because of auto white balance makes me think shutter speed was also variable for the Space Fox samples. So I ask. Was the screen IRL as same as in the Super Mario World samples?
Yes, the screen was captured IRL in the same fashion for all games. The camera shutter speed was set to 60 so as to reduce flicker while recording.
I have a the controller the same as you but the color is yellow red blue and green instead of purple and when I play super smash bros brawl it doesn’t work, do you know a fix??
Is it an official Nintendo-branded (Super Famicom) one or a third party?
@@retrogameattic idk but my dad bought me it with a snes and it has the nintendo logo engraved in the back
@@Heaven_LogIn It sounds like the SNES classic controller isn't supported in Brawl then. I would just opt for a GameCube Controller or Wii Classic Controller and you should be all set.
Can i change the Language? I bought mine from Japan and the Setting is japanese… 😢
Unfortunately, there is no way to change the language setting 😢
@@retrogameattic Thanks for your answer 😊
The black/cyan/white screen issue happens with my Pokemon Yellow. If you press down on the ROM chip very hard, it'll boot up for a little while. But clearly it needs a reflow. Thanks for this.
Hopefully a reflow does the trick! Best of luck!
@@retrogameattic Did it right after I watched. 16 hours later and it's still booting. I consider that a success!
Awesome, glad it worked!
Totally worked for me!!! Thank you for your video. Easier than I expected.
Thanks for checking out the video and glad I could help! Game on!
I was going to try to repair mine by watching this video but way to much work involved so I’m just gonna pay someone to do these that repairs consoles for a living because if I tried, I’ll get it apart and not be able to put it back together or wind up breaking it more
I totally understand, it can get a little tricky at times and probably not worth it if you're not super comfortable. If you're hiring someone, it might make sense to have them replace the entire optical disk drive while they have the console apart. Good luck!
Me and my stepdad had just done it, it wasn’t that bad actually
@@SkeletonTheJoel Nice! Glad it worked out!
Gun needs to be calibrated, otherwise nice setup!
Thanks and good eye! That Stunner seems to drift out of calibration very easily. Maybe I'll disassemble down the road to diagnose.
@@retrogameattic I was thinking of using the in-game target calibration.
Can you use this on wii u virtual console games?
Yes! As long as the Virtual Console game supports the classic controller.
guy-la-gons island
NES Guy-la-gons Island is not a guy-la-good time 😒
Very nice stuff, I like the Ps4 controller. I haven't seen a lot of the nes games before ✨😎
Thank you very much! Yeah, some of those NES games are pretty uncommon. They were good scores for sure!
@@retrogameattic nice neighbours too✨actually if you are interested I can let you take a look at my collection and let you pick some stuff for free :) I can drop my email in the comments if you like. If you dont want that I can undrstand as well.
Very nice pick ups! Gilligans Island I would have bought that too. Just because it's goofy. Pokemon was a complete score! I bought some of those for my kids and they were quite expensive from what I remember.. Good on ya for giving them the money for the ones you didn't want. Good karma for you. I can't believe you never played Tomb Raider! Take it easy Brother!
Yeah it's crazy what some of the Pokemon games go for, it was super cool of them to let me have them. Maybe I'll give the original Tomb Raider another shot again 😂
I love this place just for the Castlevania inspired logo.
It's a pretty legit logo 😎
I love the ps2 with disc tray
Same! It looks so much cooler than the Slim IMO.
@@retrogameattic and branded ps2 logo
Saved a ebay game and watch gallery 3 that booted to a white screen thanks to your video. Thank you!
Awesome job! Glad I could help!
awesome keep it up
I appreciate it and glad you enjoyed!
interesting that you say that some disk wont show on the slim but will on the fat, im currently deep cleaning a fat in the hopes of it being able to read some games that my 2 silver slims dont!
Best of luck and thanks for checking out the vid!
Amazing video. I've just won an auction this morning for a Pocket Pikachu and I am stoked for it to arrive
Thank you very much and congrats on snagging a Pocket Pikachu! You're going to love it!
Ive had a rob for a while, he has not turned on in a long time, however i put batteries in him and flipped the switch and fsr it turned right on, however the uo down left and right dont work anymore, the gears move however the gear spring doesnt have the tension it used to have
Sounds like you need a new gear spring at a minimum. I’d consult Reddit or the famicomworld.com forums. There’s also good repair instructions at classicgamwsblog.com. Good luck!
What a nice early shooter. Super Mario Land's shooter levels look to have a similar feel to this. This may be Reverend Lovejoy's favorite NES Game to discuss.
Reverend Lovejoy would definitely approve. The same can’t be said for Bonestorm though 😂
@@retrogameattic So true.

Yoshi island !
Yes! One of my favorites!
Can you recommend a crt that isn’t going for $200+ ……
I recommend staying diligent in browsing Craigslist/FB marketplace/etc. for free or cheap ones. I find crazy priced ones locally pretty regularly but also come across free ones as well. If you don’t want to wait for a free one, I’d recommend a flatscreen CRT from brands not as recognizable as Sony, such as Sanyo, JVC, Toshiba, etc. People might price them cheaper if you’re lucky and they’re pretty comparable in quality to the Trinitrons. I snagged a free 27” curved Trinitron locally since I’ve made this video so there is still hope out there! Otherwise, you should hopefully come across a fairly priced model with a bit of luck and patience. Thanks for checking out the video!
Slim was faster than fat on PS2 games, but you didn't acknowledge it at the end, only talking about one game it didn't load. Not sure why.
It’s a mystery 👻
It's pronounced "bond eye", you uncultured swine. Great video though.
My 1998 G3 was not working well, so my buddy tech at an LA Mac Repair outlet said we’ve got a nice 2002 iMac we were going to toss in E-Trash, you can have it for 25 bucks. My pal cloned my original drive into it, and I was delighted to run AppleWorks and Soundjam once again and view all my old files. (As I type this on an IPad Pro with 2 desktop iMacs in the other room. Can’t wait to get it online! Back in the day we had to use AOL or EarthLink and pay for online or NetZero etc. Remember Netscape? Thank you…
Do you think an airport cd would do the same? I can only find that online and its $100 🥲
I can't say for sure, but I don't think just the CD would work. There are AirPort adapters and cards currently on eBay for $37 and $26.50, respectively. Hope this helps! @@retrogameattic Thankyou!!! I'm in Australia so it's going to cost me more 🥲 I did find that my iMac G3 has an airport app installed, but when I try to open it, it says that the version I have (9.2 - classic) doesn't support the app - I think it's saying I need to update the computer? I'm not sure, I'm really new to it all and haven't had the time for intense research yet 😅
@poppovy You might have some luck with G3 forums or Reddit! Good luck!
Great video! Nice work. One label variant I’ve noticed that many overlook is the NES Play Action Football. There are two different 4 Player logos out there. One with the number 4 followed by 4 people silhouettes and the other is just red rectangle with a number 4 and the words “Four Player Game” In white letters.
Glad you enjoyed! Wow, I had no idea about an NES Play Action Football variant. I have the 4 silhouettes version; now I need to track down the "Four Player Game" variant. 😂 Thanks so much for the heads up and for checking out the video!
Great comparison. Those official cables look less blown out with richer colors. This video proves I need to invest in a higher quality cable. I have these cheap knock off s-video cables I use for SNES, N64, and the GameCube also via Swiss in 240p on my CRTs. It’s clear they are not nearly as good as the originals but they still blow the doors off standard composite in my opinion. Thanks for this. 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed! I agree; those 3rd party S-Video cables are a huge upgrade over composite. I think you'll be extremely satisfied with the official Nintendo ones though. I imported my official cables for $35 shipped off eBay and I think it was worth every penny.
Does it work with ps2?
Yes! It will work so long as you use composite splitters to connect a PS2.
I never paid attention to the loading times but hands down the slim is a tough ass console. Been cleaning mine every so often since i got it in 2007, still works like new. Always fun to go back to
Very cool! Glad to hear you take such good care of yours, it will probably last a very long time. Thanks for checking out the vid!
Isn’t that a slipper clutch? I don’t think super glue is the correct repair. It’s supposed to break free under pressure to avoid damaging the plastic gear and/or the motor. Gluing it removes the clutch function.
There may be a better solution, however the instructions from classicgamesblog.com suggested using super glue. It's been some time since I completed this repair and my R.O.B. is still working well.
I actually just gont one and from what I could find, there isnt a app that can compute like this computer... or at least one thats not subscription based.
Interesting! Pretty cool that there's still a practical use for it in the modern era.
lets goooooooooooo dude I need a solution to this I wanna play old japanese famicom discs man they look so cool dude
If you follow the steps from the vid you should be good to go!
Hey, I was thinking about replacing the speaker in my GBC with this one, would you say it’s louder than the stock one?
Yes! It's much louder and crisper sounding over the stock speaker. I say go for it if you're considering it!
I am considering getting a iMac g3 for my birthday to try different old games, do you think it is worth buying?
If you can find it with the keyboard, mouse, and power cable for less than $100, I say go for it! You should have a ton of fun messing around with it. Thanks so much for checking out the video!
Fantastic video! Very helpful guide for hunting in the wild. Thank you for making this video. As always great job Brother!
Thank you brotha! I hope it helps in your game search!
This is great… I’ll be looking through my NES carts for less obvious variations. I ended up with a few duplicates from a Goodwill haul about a decade ago. I do have the Metroid with an original label and a yellow label, the two Punch Outs, and a 3 & 5 screw Pinball with the Famicom adapter inside the 5 from that bundle. It was a good day!
Thank you very much! It's so satisfying discovering a Famicom adapter inside an old 5-screw black box game!
