Fix or No Fix
United Kingdom
Приєднався 5 лют 2009
Trying to fix electronics products that I have purchased from eBay, local auctions or been given from family and friends. Normally faulty and or untested and destined for landfill. Been a hobby for many years and though I would start to share my experiences on UA-cam.

iPhone 13 back glass and screen replacement
mine is like that...i can see something when i tilt the screen but directly u can't see anything 😕
New screen wasn't difficult to fit and does look good. Well worth doing if you have the right tools.
👏👏👏😁🌈
Mine broke just like that. I ended up installing the arm and used 3m tape to keep it in place. I did not install the original cover plate due to the tabs breaking. Looks ghetto but it works now.😊😂 I wonder how many Shark DuoClean owners have the same problem. Maybe file a formal complaint of the poorly designed on button. Seems they designed it to fail as it doesn’t have much material keeping it in place.
Definitely a weakness in design as both of ours had the same issue. In fairness though, they do offer 5 year warranty. Our original Shark vacuum had problem with the brushes not turning and they just replaced the whole bottom part without the need to return the faulty one. It was well over a year old when it happened and used daily so had plenty of use.
Idky I enjoy watching people fix stuff especially electronics
Thanks for watching. I'm the same :)
Cool toy😂
Great watch enjoying your content thanks for sharing 😊
Great vid again thanks for sharing 😊
No problem 👍
Thank you. Have a crystal with the exact same problem. Will have try the clock bypass. 😊
Hopefully works for yours. Thank for watching.
Nice work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Yes you can
:)
Thanks for the video, did u clean with wet cotton bud and if so was it just wetted with water or some other solvent?
Thanks for watching. I used 99% Isopropyl alcohol on the cotton bud for cleaning the contact. Should really have mentioned that in the video.
@fixornofix thanks a million
Great vid I've not seen one of these in years thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
Mine is the same won't let me turn om or off have to press buttons allot of times for it to work
Definitely a weakness in the design.
Another smart man using Blue Tack (putty) to hold the THT components 👍
I also did this composite mod. It works great except that the noise channel is missing from the audio. Before you did the mod, you can hear the explosion sound at 19:11 when your ship is hit in the invaders game. But after the mod, at 55:36, there's no explosion. Mine's the same.
Nice to hear a local accent in a video like this! Cheers fae west end Glesga :) BTW, is that a loud AC hum behind your voice? I could give some tips to filter that out, depending on what software you're using to record and/or edit.
Great job but that's an Issue 1 board with the hand drawn traces!
Various sellers have mini boards for the composite mod. Some work quite well and give a clear composite signal on modern TVs. On mine I took the entire RF box off and replaced it with a new gold jack.
ZXRenew?
Great stuff👍👍👍
👌👌👍
Brilliant 👍👍
That is nuts!
The only cap that ever need changing on those boards is the tantalum on the 12V rail - and it won't boot when it needs changing. The rest are over-spec and pre-date the electrolytic cap plague of the late 80's and 90's. Other than regular issues with the lm1889n modulator (same chip as on the rubber key spectrums) the only thing that goes wrong is the 4116 DRAM and then normally from mishandling the board or messing around with the power supply board
Thanks for the info. Never even seen the Dragon before this one, was a Sinclair and BBC micro guy.
@@fixornofix I've reproduced the original Dragon 32 boards (not the issue 5 that you have) and have a reasonable idea of how they work now. For all that the overall design is a bit behind on video and audio compared to other 8-bits of the era, the hardware itself is surprisingly good, and reliable!
a disposable e-cigarette battery would replace brilliantly that lithium battery.
Yeah, I have a few of them. Very handy.
Once again great thanks for sharing 😊
Is this okay for long term?
Absolutely. It was just poor contact. Will probably last longer than the car :)
Fabolous 😂
Great vid more please 😊😊😊😊
Absolutely fantastic video. Inspired and gave me the courage to take the job on. All done, worked a treat
Excellent. I put up with that dodgy control knob for way too long. Drove me nuts :)
Great 😂

I found this video really interesting.
Enjoyed this 😊😊
Nice vid 😊
Wow great 😊😊😊
Video is ok but you need better microphone, still good keeping it up
Just using the mic from camera. Need to get a standalone mic for sure.
Great 😊😊
hi thx for the video. The component you tested and re wired is dead on our jbl. We are having quite a bit of trouble finding the same component or equivalent. Would you know how to find the right composent? In france our transformer outpouts 2.5A 18V. If you have any tips it's more than welcome! Cheers and grettings from France!
I enjoyed watching the video. The battery compartment looked pretty bad with all that corrosion. Great to see it working again. I like how it saves the high scores (until you take out the batteries out or you reset them).
👌👌👌
Bro... It was just two parts and it works. I love shit like this. Props 👏
It's often the case. The poor soldering job of whoever attempted a fix on it before pointing the way :)
Great vid 😊😊
I have the same problem I think after watching this I,ll give it a go thanks 😊😊
Nice
Great your giving them to the kids
Well done 😊😊
