This video was made by Digifish for Leeds City Council celebrating the history of Leeds Cinemas Both myself and Mike Faria who passed away in 2014, were asked for video of the ABC Leeds. I had video from Mike which I sent along with my footage, he is seen rewinding part 6 of The Great Waltz in 70mm and making a splice. Leeds Corporation took ownership of the Hyde Park cinema, which is mentioned...

This video was done for my son, who has sailed with us before, his girlfriend hadn't. It turned out her whole family went. I did this video to explain to his girlfriends family what to expect.

This is the best rendition in my view, I have used clips from the film "Brassed Off" to accompany the piece.

The cruises for 2019/20 were cancelled due to the pandemic. This was a fly cruise, which we have never done before. It was really well organised by P&O. Went very well no real problems.
P&O Oriana final cruise for P&O
Переглядів 75 місяців тому
This trip aboard Oriana, was her final voyage, having been sold. It was a great ship, albeit small by today's standards. The ships now are getting too big in my view, half of the ports they won't be able to get in. Small is a lot better, both in passenger comfort, maintenance and port access.

I worked at this theatre in the early 70's, it was terrible when it closed. It was accompanied by quite a few other ABC's at the time, most of which had closed by 2008
P&O Cruise on the Adonia that wasn't 2018

This cruise was supposed to be on Adonia, but P&O sold it before we boarded. We had to go on Ventura which we had been on before. Still a good cruise, enjoy.

This cruise to Norway was really good, the mountains, fjords quite impressive. Flam is really nice, well worth a visit. Iceland again was an eyeopener it could be an alien world in some respects. Using under ground thermal energy to generate electricity, then using the same water as it cools down to heat the homes in the town.

Having been a projectionist and a Chief projectionist at ABC Wakefield, until 1987, when I realised the writing was on the wall. I had been in the industry for 20 years, I did this video in 2014. After digital projection came in, it was the end of projectionists as such. I tried to convey the loss of our expertise, we didn't just project it, we did things as well, like turning up the volume in ...

My second stab at video editing, which was a bit better, still getting used to it though. It is harder than you think. I now have a great respect for film editors of major movies. I am editing probably about an hour of content, whereas a movie could be over 4 hours or more, that has to be cut down to about 90 minutes.

Why do trains want to make everything to go in and out of London short and quickly. Be nice if trains could go from Yorkshire to Cornwall in 2 hours.

First English drivers view video I watched. It is shown as 1080 (HD) quality, but appears to be of lesser resolution. Not up to todays contributions, but then it's from a time when video cameras were still in use. 🤐

Well that is all well and good, but real time is what most rail people like. LNER did a couple of videos speeded up and silent, they were not well received. They might be still on YT
