The Whirl or Whirled - Ron Leonard. an old open tuning guitar song i wrote years ago. about nature
No more covers for a while as i am getting copywrite warnings. I dont know enough about youtube to understand the politics around copywrite, but I think too many and you get booted. So here is an old tune I wrote many moons ago. About the nature.
Riptide - Landslide - time - sceneries - tree
If the land slides, then so do we. We know so much now, but we do very little about - anything to do with protecting our landscape. Just to put the same effort into preservation as we do into ivention and innervation. Can we spend as much effort getting out of our planet as we should get into our planet.
If we reuse or recycle everything we have, surely we would have enough to survive.
The Whirl - is the energy that happens when you put so much effort into something that it becomes out of control. If we create that energy, then we should try and control it and use it in the right direction.

Song played in the key of G major with Em, C, A. A few add on sus bits...This was always was just simply song my Mom would play on the records when we were kids. the original, I think you can hear the sea, and Otis hardly even breaks a sweat as he cries out the lyrics. I do love the jingling guitar in the original song - background. and forget trying to whistle like that in the original song. i...

Inspired by seeing Van Morrison in concert recently.. and remembering trying to learn this song 38 or so years ago as a teenager. One thing is the Album - Astral Weeks has to be one of the most original sounding Albums even to this day. I can only say what I think of its sound is to be - the skills of a 60s and 70s song writer singer mixed with flutes brasses and orchestra sounds. you can't rea...
Helplessly Hoping (cover) Stephen Stills Am7, Cm, Dsus, F, Gsus - all chords suspended.

Unlike the other songs here it was not requested - To learn and play this song has been a lot of fun though the serious look on the face is always down to trying to play - sing and read at the same time (multi- tasking) is not my natural. this song has always been a fond memory going back to a family in Richmond ,London, that I spent some time with. they treated me kindly, taught me the first c...

Another tune fun to learn. how chords can change though out the song to give a different feel. for instance the verse changes its chords half way through the 2nd verse and splits into the chorus. very clever song writing work from the band Squeez and Lyrics of a high standard as always to be expected from the Top British band. this version is Am, Em. F. C. B. E. G. B Flat.
Sun of a Gun.( the LAs ) cover.

A fun song to learn with an unusual strum/tap rhythm, switching the Dsus chord with D Chord randomly to give a nice lift. This song also has dark lyrics about a man with a lifestyle . From the LAs a Liverpool band and one of the best Folk /Rock /Indi -Albums to come from the UK in the 90s. chord - C, Dsus, D, G
Hitman. Ron Leonard

This song was written while on a working holiday in France with a classical Guitar, in all of about 30 minutes. The song was originally started to be about a hitman whose name I would rather not say. But it has a sinister intention to get inside the mind of the persons afterthoughts and planned choices. written a long time ago.
Cover- Distant Sun -Crowded House.

A simply strummed acoustic song played in the style of the Neil Finn version. Great slow down middle 8 at the end and with beautiful lyrics this song gives a timeless message to its melody. D, G, Bm, E, Fsharp, A, Em, Gsus2.
Waterfront - Song. Ron Leonard

This song was written many moons ago about something we all can relate to. The water - the time we stood by the water the time we thought by the water the time we played by the water. We all have our own story we all have our own future time by the waterfront.
