@@spencerjessen6903 Cycle Standard 8 inch mini apes from lowbrow customs. So far they've been really comfortable (sitting more upright as a 6 foot 1 male) and I plan on sticking with them. Only cable I had to replace was the front brake's

What do you think i would have to extend if i went with 12 inch?

@@spencerjessen6903 Definitely the clutch cable and the brake line. You might need to extend the switch cables too. I think Burly Brand sells a full cable kit for Sportsters based off of how high you want to raise your handlebars - I'd definitely check them out.

@@Germaximus Yeah, that seems to be a big issue for pretty much anything heated whether its gloves or grips; none that I found were really great in providing heat to the fingertips. Only thing I've been able to do is wear liners underneath but that only does so much. Apart from that though, these gloves work well for shorter rides in cold weather, and for riding overall in 40F

never tried any of these 7v battery powered gloves but have heard that they don't heat as well as the 12v plug in gear. i personally have a pair of both the gerbing 12v and the warm n safe 12v gloves and they have both done great for me in the 20s for over 1hr with light snow/rain coming down, albeit i did have them maxed out. handguards also go a long way. you can also look into hippo hands depending on what bike you have and if you are going to be doing lots of below freezing riding.

Yeah, I honestly don't mind the softails but the sportster was a much more nimble bike and actually had some history behind it. The new Sportster S just doesn't feel the same to me.

@@arbiter6452 A big part for me is the sound and what feels like the low-end torque of a V-Twin, coupled with the more classic look of most Harleys, but at the end of the day it's all preferential. The Sportster series like the bike I ride is on the lower end when it comes to engine displacement and power for Harleys but makes up for it with a bike that handles somewhat better and more nimbly than some of the larger, heavier bikes. At the end of the day you just gotta try it and see if you like it! If so, great! If not, more power to you 😉

@@1handryder Thank you! I had to get the GoPro media mod ($75 USD) which is like a purpose built case for your GoPro, and I got a lavalier mic (Purple Panda, $34 on Amazon) that I hooked up on the inside of my helmet. The lav mic connects to the media mod aux port

@@jeremyb.8353 Thank you! I am using a Purple Panda external lav mic I got from Amazon, which I've connected to my GoPro via the Media Mod. I routed the wiring through the inner lining of my helmet and set my mic inside of my helmet, towards the bottom of my visor area.

@@2WheelDrew appreciate you brother! Stock's nice for shorter rides but the riding position wears me out after riding for a few hours. Apes would honestly be nice; I might put some Z's on eventually but you'll need to get aftermarket cables and longer electrical wiring (which may be hard with 2014+ bikes because splicing wires to CAN Bus boards can be finicky, from what I heard) Thanks for checking out the channel!

@@IEatCheerios I don't own the bike anymore but unless it's significantly loud it should be okay. Worst thing you'd have to do is maybe check valve clearance but it isn't likely anything else

Hondas have valve clearances that need to be checked and sometimes need adjusting after you check them. Sometimes the valve adjustment is based on milage. In my Honda Accord's manual it says only adjust if they are noisey. Worth looking into, won't happen overnight, but hundreds of miles of worn shims especially in Honda motorcycles, would score up the cam lobes or journals overtime.

we purchased a 2016 rebel with 1200 miles on it this year, it has some minor valve noise...better loose than tight. It's way less than my Triumphs and Harleys had. Also check the headlight bezel, grab it when you hear the noise and see if the noise stops....they're notorious for that. Easy fix, google it.

@@bitsandbins3023 this one had about 4.5k miles, give or take, and I got it for a little over 5k - granted it's got some issues with surface rust but nothing more. A lot of people think these bikes are worth more than they actually are, unfortunately. Keep hunting! You'll eventually find a clean example for a relatively affordable price - sub 7k is fairly reasonable.
