Look at the bright side of the guitar. It is a 105 Euros guitar. I will be extremely agree with you if you bought a 3500 Euros and the guitar is a piece of sh..... so, thanks for criticism. It didn't help me.
Shipping was actually a few US dollars more than the guitar.
soooo nice!!
Cool

@@katdaddy5588 it would be a sin if i didnt subscribe to musician like that
I wish I saw this before buying one. 99% of the reviews / video demos of this guitar are finger picking. Strum any chord and you'll hear just how awful these sound. Now.... im not talking they don't sound good....they sound awful. I tried several types of strings.....7 band eq. Nothing improved the sound. It was quickly donated to a music school for poor children. I can only hope the terrible sound of this turd doesn't discourage these innocent young ones. Entry level Yamahas blow everything out of the water, even the cheapest one they make. Best. J
Glad to see you again, happy 2024 & good luck.
It costs like 100 euros or similar to your currency. Flaws are acceptable at that price range. For another 100 you can get nut, saddle, better tuners and a good setup and it plays awesome
Shipping was actually more expensive than the guitar itself. I've used the guitar on some freebie gigs and am getting used to it. I still prefer my Ovation Celebrity and Thunderbolt
This is Greg from Verizon nice meeting you Sir.
Listen to you it's like be an evening with good friends. GRACIAS Saludos desde Chunyaxche, Q.Roo. México. LOVE
Thank you !!!
Nice to hear you again!
I have always had good luck with HB. Thanks for the review. BTW - I grew up in the Lacy area of Christian County and now in Murray.
Harley aside..I kinda enjoyed that. A whole song..thats rare..🙂👏👏👉👍
Thank you !! I still play the Buddy Holly Apartment Tapes regularly
Great 27 minutes, thanks so much.
Thanks for checking it out !!
Yep, rock-a-billy is your THING. Love it!!
Just remember that you asked us to comment on that guitar you're playing. Here's what I think about the HBO 600, since you asked. I bought mine because of a video by Tomek Stezalski, in which he A/B's an HBO 600 against a Celebrity series Ovation and, through my studio-grade headset, the HBO 600 was the winner in terms of tone and sustain. I bought the HBO 600 NT. The instrument I received had no visible cosmetic flaws. It came with string height at the 1st and 12th frets set to minimum Ovation specification and the neck relief was likewise set to Ovation minimum specification. It shipped with a dead pre-amp that spoiled my joy a little. Thomann offered to make things right but I was very reluctant to ship the instrument back to them because it was so unbelievably perfect otherwise. Instead, I bought a new Belcat 505 preamp kit from Amazon for $9.99 and swapped the dead pre-amp for the new, properly functioning one in less than fifteen minutes. In the venue I play in, plugged in, it filled the place with big genuine Ovation sound. I had to have another. So, I bought the HBO 600 BK. I've bought the blue burst and the sunburst models, too, and should have them Monday or Tuesday. Mine look like Ovations. They play like Ovations. They record like Ovations. They sound like a chorus of angels through the venue's PA, just a real Ovation would. The have the same renowned tuning stability, the same response to pick attack, the same long, sweet, singing sustain on single-note runs and lead lines, coupled with excellent note separation during pyrotechnical cross-picking. I need an instrument that sounds like an acoustic guitar on the rhythm parts but lets me do twiddly bits and lead lines with Stratocaster or Telecaster ease. I'm the guitar player and do most of the lead vocal work in the band I'm involved with. I can't have a difficult instrument. I'm doing vocals, rhythm parts, and lead parts, often at the same time. Right now, there's no other instrument I'd rather get up in front of up to 1,200 people two times a week and play than my HBO 600 instruments. I'd rather have these than the real things, and I was a huge fan of those before discovering these. I'm at a loss to understand how anybody who can get on with an Applause neck profile could find an HBO 600 "difficult to play." Mine practically play themselves.
I appreciate your input. However: I stand by my original post. Even after a setup. my HB does NOT "practically play itself". Its' my "couch guitar"-I play it when I'm either trying to learn a new song or experimenting with an arrangement. However: I don't see myself taking this one on a gig. My Applause works quite well for me and I recently picked up an Ovation Celebrity CS 257 that has a slim electric style neck. These two guitars, IMO, are far more fun to play than my HB. It may well be a case of my getting a flawed production model.
I just purchased a Harley Benton D-120 CE from Thomann for $75.00 because I was curious about their quality. I have 12 guitars, including a $500.00 Ovation Celebrity CE. I'll take my cheap Harley Benton over any of the other 11 that I have. But that's based on personal preference. I don't like my Ovation at all. But again, personal preference.
Just curious: what did it cost you for shipping ?? Was it set up when you received it ?? I won't use the HB 600 for paying gigs. My Applause is the current "utility" guitar
@@katdaddy5588 Shipping was $73.56 & it arrived in 3 days. Not bad for 4194 miles. It was set up. Excellent action & break angle.
@@williamriffle8253 Congrats !! Sounds like you "lucked out" with your Harley Benton
I was a huge "fan boy" of Ovations from 1980, when I learned to play on a then-new Balladeer, up until receiving my first HBO-600 six or seven months ago. I have two of these; a black HBO 600 BK and a natural HBO 600 NT. I doubt I'll buy another "real Ovation" ever, as long as I have these. I'd like to have a couple more of them. I know how the real things are supposed to look, feel, and play. I still have an old Ovation owner's manual with the set-up specs contained it. Both of my HBO 600s arrived with the neck relief and 1st and 12th fret string height at minimum Ovation spec. They practically play themselves and sound like a chorus of angels through the house P.A. and the tuning stability is the same as what the real things used to be renowned for.
Muy bien, saludos desde Chunyaxche QRoo.
