Making an Executive rollerball pen from Axminster tools #vlog56
Making an executive rollerball pen from Axminster tools, which is a beautiful large pen. Some years back I made the executive fountain pen from Axminster tools, but I think this rollerball pen is much more user friendly.
If you wish to find the pen and the pen blank just look on the Axminster tools web site where you can find much, much more choice.
Thanks for watching.

Restoring an old Screwdriver #vlog53

Rescued and restored to its former glory an old flathead screwdriver. This old screwdriver was given to me by my mother-in-law, it was with a load of old rusty tools, in a hand made wooden toolbox, like all the older generation used to make, for their tools. The handle was damaged and the shaft was rusty and bent. I love the old style screwdrivers, with big handles which are easy to grip, not l...

    Ok done mine, took the airfilter lid off, also cut the cable ties holding the wires onto the fan, also when releasing the front grill after undoing top screws one has to put wide flat or narrow plier head and push the clip underneath out (4 of them) ,it was a pig to wriggle out the fan unit without damaging the hose pipes but if a R.A 65 yr old ex mechanic female can do it

  • @desmondbeattie3954
    @desmondbeattie3954 5 місяців тому

    There is a little bit of movement in the timing cover when screws are fitted and left loose. This could mean that the seal could be of centre to the crankshaft if fitted after the timing cover has been secured. This may mean the crankshaft would be compressing the seal as it rotated. The seal may well last a 1000 miles before leaking. Best to fit the seal to the timing cover first, apply sealant to cover, align seal and cover to crankshaft. Seal will dictate the slight alignment of the timing cover

  • @nevergoingtoupload
    @nevergoingtoupload 5 місяців тому

    Thanks for the video, I am watching a few before I do mine. A couple of comments on the timing job. Firstly, you should remove the tensioner pin and allow the timing chain to centre everything before you tighten the 3 nuts on each sprocket. The reason the camshaft sprockets are on slots is to allow this adjustment. Secondly, if the crankshaft locking pin was correctly inserted the crank shouldn't have moved when you tried to remove the bottom sprocket. People use the clamp because the pin is such a pain to insert, you don't need both anyway.

    • @illgiveitago1239
      @illgiveitago1239 6 місяців тому

      Hi Mike, if it’s the main crankshaft it could be the main crankshaft bearings, this is a very big job and expensive. You need to take it to a mechanic to see if this is the case. Just to remind you I’m not a mechanic and I could be wrong but the should be no movement with the main crankshaft, this could be why your oil seal is leaking. I really hope you get this sorted, I wish you well. Thanks.

      @illgiveitago1239 6 місяців тому

      Thank you for your comment. Yes, I did rotate the engine and after 4 rotations No they didn’t line up. From what I understand you need more than 4 rotations for it to line back up. As long as the timing marks line up before and after chain replacement it should be all good. As long as the main crankshaft and the camshaft didn’t move. If you used the kit I used in the video you should be fine. Good luck 👍

      Thank you for your kind comment. It’s 2.2 Peugeot HDI engine which is basically a Ford transit 2.2. 👍
