D major problem as you put m sister na d denial... ppl m feel say black man nor de go through mental health issues. Resources, facilities, personnel etc. is another thing, den insufficient. Ar just pray dat as time de go, we go improve on den area den ya (not only in den existence, but also in den efficiency & effectiveness).

Big up to max box media, for this. Mental health is a very serious and sadly, rarely talked about issue everywhere, much more so in our mama salone. This episode hopefully causes more young people to be more aware and better informed about mental health issues and how they can get help. Thanks to Dr. Evelyn and Rebecca. A huge contributing part to mental health which is forgotten or even neglected is the role of the family. The world is a hard place, it is the responsibility of parents to raise up strong resilient children. Children with good moral values -being trustworthy, loyal, able to persevere, strong willed. It is incumbent on parents to raise stronger kids who are able to keep going when the going gets tough. I see today very soft (putting it mildly) people who gets "triggered" by the most trivial thing. People are going to be bad, disappoint, cheat, do all sorts of wrongs, and things are bound to get difficult, frustrating, even unbearable. Everyone is bound to encounter some sort of difficulty at some point in their life, that is more true if you live in salone. Understanding that life will certainly not go our way most of the time should help a child even from a young age to be able think and act in order to get desired outcomes or the best possible outcomes from situations. Now I realize that most people who listen to this podcast are over 18 and to an extent independent from their parents. Hopefully the things discussed in this two part podcast helps you. However, most of us who are watching this podcast, Dr Evelyn, Rebecca, Okas are young people who maybe sooner rather than later plan on having kids of our own (if not already). Or at least contemplating the possibility. It is our duty to model good character now, and eventually if/when we have kids in order to teach them to be able to "take one on the chin" and be able to get back up and keep going. I believe a good majority of today's issues, mental health issues no less, can be curbed to a huge extent at the family level. A wise man says, life is 5% what happens to you and 95% how you react.
