The only way to keep an Xp machine secure is keep it OFFLINE, if a business is using legacy machines, like CNC machines or other factory equipment, there is no reason for them being connected to the internet. I would not trust any outdated OS being connected to the internet....Wanna cry virus anyone ??😅
In an ideal world, I agree with you. But often the machines need to be dialled into from other machines or vendors.
@@growyougrowyourbusiness4722Machines that need to be connected to the internet for vendors to access would normally be of a new generation, typically in the last decade and therefore will have more modern OS. Legacy machines would be things like Old hospital equipment, Old Cnc machines etc. Those machines should NOT be connected to the internet. even more so if they are conencted to an internal network. If the need is that the machine MUST have external access, than it needs puting on its own Vlan with complete Lockdown and only accessed by Known Ip adresses.
