NMCA Rockingham, NC Extreme Street First Race of 2024!

We took the Mustang to NMCA/NMRA’s race in Rockingham North Carolina for the first race of the season. Dustin drove, I played crew chief and mom! The event was action packed, filled with spectators and overall a great start to the season. We fell short in round 2 of eliminations, but as always learned a lot and earned us some points for standings!
Dragpak’s First Test Session ‘24

Dustin and I took the Mike Alsop Racing Dodge Challenger Dragpak out for its first day of practice since being off season since last February. We went up to US131 Motorsports Park. NHRA announced some big blower and pulley rule changes to our class this season and everyone has slowed down a bit. We wanted to see where we would stand after an engine refresh and sitting all winter long!
The Kids Service Their Jr. Dragster

We took the kids in last weekend to service the Jr. Dragster as they plan to take it out as soon as the local tracks open. We also serviced the Mustang and continue to prep it as we prepare for the NMCA race in Rockingham. Thanks @eastwoodco for the TIG welder and @strangeengineering for the banner for the shop!

We spent New Years Eve taking the engine out of the Dragpak to send it off to be refreshed for the ‘23 season. With only two months before the first race of the season, we are quickly running out of time! Thankfully we have great friends that are always willing to help that made this removal go so much quicker than it normally would.

@@thewheelockfamily we went 4.62 in the eight and 7.23 in the quarter in my 2019 N\A COPO this weekend. Motor is now a canted head 454 LS on nitrous. Mencer shocks, Turbo 400 with a break and dump valve. Upgrade rear suspension to a brand new braced, 9in with an ARB, adjustable 4link brackets on the frame and the housing and are running a Hoosier 28x10.5 07 compound. I figure y’all are running a class, but with no rules, the car has SOOOO much more potential. And took those damn wheelie bars off. The unload the rear…
Lol i wish. We couldn’t do any of that. Has to be 350 ci Magnuson supercharged. No mods. Weight has to be 3550. No dump valves.
