Here's a trick when it comes to chance time, in the middle block from what I know based on my mario party knowledge, the space immediately after the default steal coins it starts off with is a steal star. If you immediately press A as soon as possible you're likely to get a guaranteed star every time you do chance time. Of course if you want to do something else it's typically easy to time it as long as the middle block is the one you go for first. The second block you can time it just will require a lot of patience and the third you is basically praying to the RNG gods.
