i like how you shoot in b&w while your shooting. i do that. nobody does that anymore. i do shoot raw only. millions of shot raw mode only. and i only do very little edits.

TTL might stand for "through the lens" in some instances but, in this case, it stands for "transistor-transistor-logic".

I wish the LED flash light is at the back. I keep forgetting it on and it runs out the battery very fast. its cost 8 Euros and it very hard to buy it in Europe no shop wants to sell it. they tell me they use to sell it old films camera now there is no demand for this battery. Can I use rechargeable battery or it may short it with extra power.

Almost mistook this for an epic movie with the almost 1 minute intro.

The flashtubes, as supplied by Quantum, are safe to handle with your bare hands. The actual flashtube is within a protective Pyrex glass "dome". Mr. Bear is correct in that you should never touch a flashtube but in this case you're only touching the Pyrex glass.

I would advise Never touch the flash tube with your bare hands. The oils from your fingers can shorten the life of the bulb. Use cotton gloves or a washcloth anything just not bare hands. Of course that is your choice to do, I would not advise it.

Natural light looked more appealing, softer and warmer, and lit up the scene better. Flashes will always look like flashes.

Purchased my T5dr a couple of years ago, used mostly auto modes....now want to use program mode but i have auto mode, wireless auto mode, strobo mode manual mode, wireless r1 group and wireless r2 group, linked to local but no program mode, why, am i doing something wrong ?

Looks like he used larger aperture(eg. 2.8f) to control the softness of the background, HSS(High Speed Sync) will only control how dark or ligh you want the back ground to be. HSS does not control the softness of the background, it only controls the light(and drakness) of te back ground......Misleading video to sell those who dont know...

Cool video but the user interface on the quantum is somewhat convoluted. Very good instruction style though.

Is the CoPilot compatible with X5D in TTL or manual modes?

Advice to potential buyers of this product: Note that the CoPilot does actually NOT work properly in TTL-mode. Multiple customers (including myself) have reported the issue on the "fast" support Quantum site. Quantum seems to ignore us all and continue to sell the product with the same specifications, despite it doesn't match them. Hi, nice review! Wouldn't you be mixing different light temperatures sources in the those shots if you don't gel your flash?

I think you meant the opposite at 1:40. Direct flash is the second photo, and the Room light is the first one exactly at 1:40. Am I mistaken? Great equipment!

You can control the ambient light by selecting a lower ISO value. That can only get you so far though. Look for shade if you don't have hss. I don't know what you mean about "manual" flashes. Most flashes have manual to them. I have a yongnuo560ex and it has hss.

That is correct. The T5d-R (or any of the models in the T or X families of Qflashes) cannot do High Speed Sync. Will Crockett is showing how to do it in the second picture by using pure flash power to overpower the Sun. The first picture he demonstrated was using the Pilot with a Trio Qflash, which has the capabilities of doing High Speed sync.

plz correct me if im worng. on shot #2, if desired, I CANT use T5DR to go shallow DOF by using HSS? if true, what advantage does pilot bring as oppose to freexwire transmitter when used as a master? my trio & T5DR is completely useless at F2.0 or larger cause it cant understand the camera (way overexposed). Does it happen with your?
