    Yes but how do you do that. I do the same thing. No idea how to get weight or what to do. Is it a push off back foot? I feel weight of shoulders and club in back swing and feel strange if I try to push into lead leg.

      The weight gets forward for players if they actually drift into the lead foot than push up and back out of lead leg. That will pull the trail hip around in most cases

    Modern irons are designed to have a sole and leading edge to improve turf interaction. Too much forward shaft lean cancels out the benefit of modern irons. Plus it's very beneficial to be able to hit a high ball flight. With strong lofted irons that are forgiving, delofting iron shots is a lot less necessary

    • @chowardgolf

      That is a great question. I wouldn’t say there are truly benefits to it compared to overlap or interlocking it’s all into player comfort. And a 6 has a long way to go in my books before I would reference them as a high level player worth studying to be honest. • @chowardgolf
      @chowardgolf 27 днів тому

      @@susanrice2146 as a professional teacher who flies all over the world teaching I’m a little confused by your question. The trail leg should extend but should not move off. Lead knee retains flexion and rolls in slightly to allow the player to turn instead of roll. If lead knee moves to far towards the ball then a reverse pivot occurs. If your talking downswing both knees should increase flexion but you will find your pelvis moving back to create space. That will create downswing rotation without slide.

    Great simple lesson demonstration. Two things I have personally had difficulty sifting through with golf lessons are hip rotation and golf club release. So many, not you, forget to tell you to sit back with your leading hip during hip rotation. This allows room for the hand to come through from the inside a bit easier. You weren't getting into release in this video, but I believe many golfers focus on the bottom hand going over the top hand after you have already struck the ball. Many, I included for years, think this is the move you are making striking the ball. In reality the "release" that helps compress the ball and generate club head speed is nothing more than the hinge created at the backswing straightening out at impact.

    • @chowardgolf
      @chowardgolf 27 днів тому

      Thank you for the comment and my goal is for players to always have space for impact and rotation is key. There’s plenty of videos I have posted in the past about the release patterns that can work with that movement. I hope you check them out

    I've coached a lot of players privately. This is a trick question. Depends on what your trying to play. A fade or draw. First keeping the club open helps the golfer who hooks the ball. Second is for the golfer who tends to slice. Lastly more important than that is where the impact zone is. Is it 3 to 4 inches in front of the ball or The ball?? I've been a personal trainer off and on for 23 years. I also work at the PGA Superstore. I've helped a lot of golfers replacing clubs and from what I see the fade/ slice is one of the easiest fixes I've been able to help by adjusting their stance and having them use their quick twitching muscles.
