Hallo doctor , I lost my 19 year old girl in 2022 due to cancer. But at Tygerberg hospital they have 8 eggs freezing. Now me and my husband want to have a grandchild of our belated Angel. My husband is the only bread winner. But we must have a R100,000 for a letter from a judge an the more cash for the procedure. But we can't afford all that amount. We are the guardians of her eggs. Plsssss are there any help for us to have that special gift from our Angel😢😢😢.

PCOS is just the expression of the effects of chronic elevated insulin in the female reproductive system. The male version manifests as erectile dysfunction and low sperm count and quality. But the root cause is the same regardless of sex → chronic elevated insulin is the root cause of reproductive health issues in both males and females. The test "for PCOS" is simple and cheap → fasting insulin test is all you need. You can do additional tests but the F.I. test is pretty much all you need. If the results are over 6 uIU/mL, you have elevated insulin that is driving reproductive issues. If the results are over 15 uIU/mL, you have extreme insuline derangement which is absolutely destroying your reproductive health. The reason the fasting insulin test is the only test you need related to PCOS is because, if you have chronic elevated insulin, it is only a matter of time before you develop PCOS symptoms → you either have PCOS currently or you are being pushed into it by your elevated insulin. To restore fertility and productive health, you must address the insulin problem. Furthermore, addressing the insulin problem commonly resolves all other fertility issues (there are exceptions occasionally). There are three main sources of chronic elevated insulin: 1) Chronic stress 2) Chronic sleep deprivation 3) Chronic carbohydrate overconsumption To keep this as short as possible, I will not discuss sleep or stress → there are plenty of videos covering those topics. For diet, *_GENERALLY SPEAKING,_* for women already showing PCOS symptoms, staying under 20g total carbohydrate intake per day will reverse elevated insulin (unless they are taking hormone-altering drugs like birth control). I am happy to explain more or answer questions or address concerns.

Thank you for sharing this. I am in some dcp communities and i got really in shock with the tone and the views they share and try to impose on others. I have seen posts of people deciding to destroy their exceeding embryos instead of donating because they go there and ask for "dcp views" which are all around "if you don't want to be part of their lives as a genetic parent better not give the chance of life at all due to trauma you'll be causing". And people back away from donating or receiving because of such voices that I actually believe are the loud minority. Congratulations on your maturity to know we always seek the easiest scapegoat explanation when we're down. That is a tough one to get for everybody!

When a child is 3-5 and they first start understanding about their conception but aren't old enough to fully think about the possible consequences, how do parents deal with or prevent their child telling other people who may not already know? I worry that if I don't tell everyone- especially closer family members- that they will find out from my future child when the child starts to understand and maybe not react well. On the other hand, I worry those same family members might subconsciously treat our children different than their cousins if they do know from the jump.

thank you for your comment. I know this is a tough issue... for many people. You are not alone. Feel free to reach out to me directly but basically, there is only so much we can do. Children parrot the story at that age and do not truly understand it. Therefore, they don't always talk about it, but if they do, there is nothing we can do. They need to know we are not ashamed of the conversation.

Great podcast as my husband and I are going through this very same thing. I loved the example that you gave of the siblings and how not all siblings look alike. Prior to your video I was so set on finding a donor that resembles me, but now I will focus more on the medical and the family and genetic history. Thank you so much. ❤

I'm surprised you didn't get accused of harassing her by discussing pregnancy with her.

I have a donor embryo baby, so no genetic link to me, butI know we were meant to be together. I have a beautiful daughter and I am so, so grateful for her and for her donors. I have told her about her origins all her life. They are the most intentional children. I hope my daughter can meet her donors and I'd love to meet them too. The male door was an 'open' donor, meaning he said he was willing to be contacted when the children were 18. The female donor, we were not given any information on, but I think there will be more ways to find the donors online in future, after all, we all have a right to know where we come from and the research has already proven many times that late disclose or non-disclosure is not good for anyone. We know most of my child's donor siblings and stay in touch. I would love to be able to tell both of the donors one day how truly grateful I am to have been able to have my daughter because of their donations ❤️

How it is your experience so far? How old is your kid and does she ask to meet their genetic related ones? I'm 42 years old and I have no kids. I'm considerind IVF with egg donation because I want to experience the whole process. I will not lie, I'm a bit afraid... I'm with my husband for 12 years and we love, admire and respect each other so much! Of course he would want that the baby had my genetics, but he has agreed with egg donation if this is the only option. I plan to tell the kid as soon as he/she can talk and to make a cute illustrated book about it. I knew the happiest adopted 4 year old girl that used to say with a smile on her face: "Mary is adopted!"❤ Maybe the kid will want to know about the donator in the future, but the egg donation subject won't be a surprise. I plan to have 2 kids so they can feel totally related and never be alone. I only have the option of anonymous donation, but if somehow they find the biological donator and they get along, it will be one more person in the world that cares about them.
