I walked around the lake and took short videos of the low water level. Historically low level. And yes it feels like walking on the bottom of our loved lake.

Summary of the history of this property. Some of you remember and miss PizziGando. Some miss The Square. The Red Lentil was pretty great as well. Sad to see all those businesses go, but let's hope the new establishment will last many years. Let's support them. Thank you to all who let me use their photos.

This was amazing day in Sharon filled with music all over the town. Sharon Historical Society hosted 2 bands - The Devil's Rock and Tree and the sea. Our main museum as well as farming museum were so much fun and we were thrilled to see many people having fun. And we added bunch of fun activities. This is just a summary of the day, and only a few short videos of the bands. Please view Sharon TV...

Aw my young days there
Your video was truly beautiful and inspiring. As a fellow creator, I appreciate the effort you put into it. Sub and 👍2
Thank you very much. Good luck with your videos.
Great video!
Thank you. Your hikes look amazing!
Good time to clean up the shore and get all that debris and organic materials out of the area.
Thank you so much I love the pictures especially at the intersection of Ames and Cottage St I wish I could go for a walk back in time there
Thank you for another great video the pictures of Furnace St are really cool. My mom's family owned property there for decades.
You are welcome!
Thank you for this - LOVED it. Brought back memories - had a morning paper route in the surrounding neighborhood. Looking forward to more hiking vids!
You are very welcome.

Thank you for making this video - beautiful fall day for a hike and nature walk
And beautiful town as you know ;O).
I attended sacred Heart School from 1967 to 1972- I was the last graduating class. I remember Brother John he use to play basketball with all the Students during recess. He was at least 6 ' 3". Brother Peter Goode was my history teacher. My first year Brother Lawrence was my History teacher but he unfortunately succumbed to cancer. I stayed at the school my first two years and my last two they allowed me to become a day student. The Brothers were very strict but that Strictness /Structure provided me a good foundation for High School and College.
When I was a little kid in the 70s that was the Pearlmutters house. I had been in it a couple times I knew it was an old house but no idea it could have been that old. It's amazing how they moved so many homes and buildings back then it couldn't have been easy. Thank you for letting me know.
Excellent video - do you know where on Quincy St that house was relocated? I love trying to recognize the areas where these buildings once stood. Thank you.
Oh you know Quincy street well - it is actually part of 50 Quincy street. Not easy to visualize as it seems the old school was "swallowed" by the house itself.
I remember it as Thayer pharmacy as a kid - I am officially old...
What about Thayer pharmacy?
I was not able to gather all information on the period between 1966 and 1995. Maybe video # 3 on this location will be re-leased one day ;O).
We bought the property from Thayer pharmacy in 1989 and we had rented out to natural food store and a fresh fish store until 1994 and in 1995 we renovated the building completely and moved Sharon house pizza there under a new name Pizzigando cafe
@@pizzigan Thank you Phil for filling the gap. We miss your wraps and pizza very much.
I appreciate you sharing, it helped me better understand (Sharon ma ) . Thank you
Wait! That's me!
Thanks for the nostalgia trip
It would have been something to see those buildings in person. Thank you for sharing the photos and information.
Okay I've waited over 50 years to see the inside of that - a childhood mystery has been solved - I was told as a young kid the Massapoag Lake Troll lived in it.
Oh he is there! But is camera shy ;O))))).
@@sharonlocalhistory5671 that hilarious
What a great event! Thank you all.
That is a splendid display, and the inside and outside circles are very clever. Much of that is what my mother would have seen as a child 100 years ago. Thank you for yet another lovely video.
That is a cool display thank you for sharing it.
Thank you. More details coming up ;)
I'm a little concerned that it looks like the windows might not open.
Pretty sure they all will be closed due to safety concerns. Sadly we will have to rely on artificial air supply ;O).
thank you for the video, I only knew them as "pudding stone"
No no no I finally mastered the pronunciation I was not willing to cheapen it by saying "pudding" ha ha. You are correct that is another name for them.
@@hanamade7914 Oh you're awesome - I love the fact that you see what I used see on these trails and wonder about, but you do the research and let us know what we're looking at. Thank you.
Excellent research. Thank you for posting
Thank you. Efforts of volunteers of Sharon Historical Society ;o).
Have you seen this? ua-cam.com/video/NrApemK3kus/v-deo.html
Another wonderful video of historic places in Sharon. I love the old small farm at the beginning of Cottage St. We played a lot of football games in that field before they put the homes there. It would look beautiful during the winter snow, The owners never minded us playing there. It was a nice property. It's very kind of you to make these videos. Thank you so much. I still have to ask my Aunts to get me photos to send you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Hana, I have been enjoying many of your videos. You are excellent at promoting the town of Sharon and its history! I live in Canton and enjoy long walks in Sharon including walks around Lake Massapoag !
That is cool - I miss seeing the fireworks at the lake - thank you
I love it - I will have to get copies of old family photos to send you - I have some from Wolomolopoag St that you might like - thanks again for for the great historical pictures
Hi Scott, glad you enjoy the videos. I would love to see the photos. You can send them to localhistorysharon@gmail.com. If we don't have the in our collection I will add them to archives. Thank you, Hana
I attended the Sacred Heart School as a Day Student. There were a few other Sharon boys that also attended as "Day" Students. Brother John was a towering individual, Brother Mandelin taught me in 6th grade. The same year that Brother Albert was murdered. Rest in Peace and in God's Presence 🙏
Another set of great photos it was nice to see the old stone house my great grandfather owned at one time
Amazing house. I met your grandfather and your grandmother, lovely people. I will make a post about the house one day...one day.
I had some difficulty getting the words out in the first message d.w.
Where is Sharon TC hubby in Wisconsin d.w.
This is Sharon Massachusetts.
Great video - very reminiscent of summers past - thank you
The pull-in parking at Bendinelli's and Sharon House of Pizza... I spent way too much time hanging out "up town" as a kid. Great memories and good Sharon History. Any shots of the blizzard of 1978? Thank you.
The new library is going to be awesome.
I can still recall the smell of Sharon Co-Op Bank from the late ‘80s/early ‘90s.
Nicely done….thanks
Nicely down…moves a little too fast to read easily….demolition of old town hall, especially considering what was built to,replace it, seems to have been incredibly foolish.
Thank you for the video. I appreciate the old photos and descriptions. I would like to wiish Sharon Historical Society a safe and wonderful Memorial Day weekend.
We will stop by and check it out when we are in town.
So good to see George and Martha still standing!
Thank you for making the video. I love Moose Hill. It's beautiful any time of year. It looks like everyone had a good time.
i went to cottage street 2013-2018
Beautiful home and property. The owner's preservation work deserves recognition. I'm glad they haven't split up the lot to build more homes. That's what happened to the house my dad grew up in at East and Ames Streets and it really detracted from the property aesthetically. Another great video. Thank you.
This is really cool that this is being taught and kids are still interested in local history. The kindness, patience, and explanation by the educator was wonderful.
Amazing video!! Even the basement is finished. The property owners utilized every inch of space into something usable. My favorite is the 3 rd floor, I would make it a sewing floor… Love all the details ❤
Great video! Loved the content. Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you! Back at you, say hello to Oakville (my home for 3 years). Hana
I have a video on my channel where we walk IN that stream for awhile- bottle hunting.... Streets Shall Provide channel
Beautiful video. I love that part of the trail. The challenge as a kid was to hang off the wall at that sidewalk at the beginning of Cottage St. and cross from one side to the other in order to be one of the "big kids" that got to brag about it. That trail is such a beautiful walk we were fortunate as students at Cottage St. School to have a rep from the Audubon Society (a lady named Mrs. Sisson I think) to take us from class down to Mann's pond. She would point out the importance of the local wildlife that you could see then she had us get water samples and take them back to class and look at the life in the water under the microscope. We were so lucky to have someone come and take their time to do that. You video reminds me how important it is to appreciate a quiet walk in the woods. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your memories. Audubon is certainly amazing place. Glad you enjoyed the videos...there are more hiking videos in this channel. Audubon is included of course.
This a good one too: ua-cam.com/video/zCrMbPu1kc4/v-deo.html
I'm always amazed that women didn't get the right to vote until 1920. I'm even more amazed at how little people knoe about our hometown hero Deborah Sampson.
