How to Make Hard Career Decisions Seem Simple
That was such great advice! I came across your channel because I was laid off today (not software, but HR) and was searching for best videos to watch when laid off…so glad I did!
Glad to hear it's helping my friend! Take a look at my playlist for Job Search Support 👍 Reach out if you need more help.
3 levels of listening, goal calls. Good stuff!!
Two masterminds in talk ❤
Excellent!
How to get placed in top companies in any industry even with some shortcomings like for example lesser experience.. what factors work extremely well in our favour when it comes to differentiate ourselves or project some sort of expertise.. which ideas actually work..
This video flipped a switch in me. This is the most valuable advice I've received in a while.
Appreciate that, high praise 🙏 now that the switch is flipped, make sure you take action to embed that change!
How to talk about achievement during interview if we don't have experience but only internship knowledge of projects which is also essential but how to brag better, self advocacy in that situation - to negotiate better salary and not fall into recruiters trap of telling us that we're inexperienced and fresher so have to work like an all rounder as it happened with me in past..
Very impressive video. You won't be at 410 subscribers for long. The only thought I would add to this is when upper management doesn't understand the concept of resource constraint.
Thanks for the compliment, appreciate that 👊 and yes, you’re right that management is both down AND managing up as well! Great point - I’ll put that in my topics queue, managing up
I learned the hard way. If you work hard no matter what, even when no one is looking, people will notice. If you slack off all the time and act like you deserve more than you get, people notice that too.
BS. Managers are usually the people that screws up.
Zach, I will be the first to comment here. You are doing a great service to professionals to use their voice effectively by bringing in unique personalities in your podcast! Thoroughly enjoying it!
Thank you for your kind words! Stay tuned for more unique personalities and insights!
What should be the strategy for 3x or 5x our salary as engineer ? What can help..
There's no one secret formula. Happy to discuss. Reach out on LinkedIn.
@@TheHappyEngineer Sure !! 😊
The reason the first 2 years of college requires at least 1 year of arts education is because arts are an important part of understanding the world. Anyone claiming to be an engineer that hates arts probably didn't even go to college or didn't learn what college was designed to teach.
I really needed this thanks.
I liked the section from 24 - 30 mins in where you described the realization of how short term addictive behaviors seem more like a coping mechanism to avoid pain, and that when you stopped those behaviors it opened the range of emotions you experience, both the positive and the negative. And how it's normal and okay to experience all those ranges of emotions.
I'm glad that resonated with you! Thanks for the comment :)
Great interview! Thank you for sharing!
Does niching deep down in our field as engineer to become expert in certain area opens the door to earn the most money ? What are some other best ways to create massive success in corporate world and any top books suggestions about it ?? I am hvac site and design engineer in Aec construction industry working for air conditioning projects..
Amazing!
Bro in our industry before joining the company as engineer how to identify pain points or concerns of our boss/recruiters before interview or after it so i can position myself as solution to those problems ? How to use fear or loss aversion to improve our impact and success rate..
Spot on analysis ✅ Bro i need to know about 'how to market myself as job seeker' with no experience but required skills and internship so what's some top books on marketing ourself in such a situation as I've heard that presenting oneself with confidence matters a lot in terms of convincing clients or recruiters..
Thanks for the support. It's great to see you've been enjoying the content. How about we connect and chat on LinkedIn?

Bro i have heard that Co-workers are not your friends so how to build relationships at work to succeed faster than normal as it is said that network is networth ? Could you explain what one should be doing strategically in order to increase value & influence without being trapped in taking unwise steps or staying around losers.. People or experts on this issue have different and contradicting view points some say coworkers are not your friends, some say they can be friends..its confusing so last stop is i believe in your opinion about complex subjects...
Too Good !! Bro it is said that 'Writing' is the most important yet Underrated skill of the century so i want to know how to learn it effectively ? How it impacts our career & any mentors or books that could shed some light on it also on public speaking ?? I am Mep hvac engineer fresher in Aec construction industry.
Why doesn't this guy have more likes? Dang this is exactly what I need to learn about.
Glad the content is useful Andrew!
Engineering graduate learns a LOT of theory . In industry it is CRUCIALY important to understand that a design problem can NOT be solved by simply plugging numbers into the ready-made equations theoretical equations. Real problems of design involve others factors beside the parameters of ideal equations. For example EE designing an op-amp with low level inputs signals has to sometimes tend to oscillation problems, interfering pick-up signals, cost of parts problems, packaging problems, ...many more that become obscure electrical contact resistance etc. That is why a new graduate MUST copy the an old-hand behaviors and REJECT some of them.
Your video is very beautiful. I like it a lot. I have been trying to talk to you for a long time. I am waiting for your response. Please give me a chance to talk to you..💗

Proud of you my boy! Cheers to continued success!

Fruitful Conversation !! Bro i am a hvac engineer fresher what would be some best books to read in general on personal branding for job hunting & networking with recruiters or company owners to attract job opportunities..
Thank you for your comment! There are some good book recommendations in the show notes of this episode oasisofcourage.com/103-increase-velocity-to-land-your-dream-career-with-gina-riley-talent-expert-and-career-coach/
Insightful ! Bro i have a 4 yrs career gap so how should i mention it in resume & more importantly how to explain it to recruiters in upcoming interview when i haven't done much voluntary work etc due to family reasons, duties but have watched many useful lectures on UA-cam so can i mention that or will that be too smaller reason for them to judge me ? What could be some best answers..
Great “video”. Thank you for sharing

ChatGPT is a special kind of scary
This is all woo-woo
it said nothing , I mean nothing at all
An engineer complained about market not buying his godlike products. He payed me for a consulting and the obvious reason was that he was making zero marketing. I told him what to do in order to build awareness in potential customers and he replied he didn't want to put such an effort because his products are godlike and if people is unaware of that it's their fault. He finally stated he wants to market products without doing marketing at all and blamed me because he sold none. Well I understood that it's assholes choosing to become engineers in order to build their own mental world and not the other way around. When you hire an engineer check his mental health first.
Yes they are! Plus they are utterly boring with zero creativity.
Imagine a world without the arts. That would suck.
Guilty as charged!✋
