10 years later, in 2021, this is still helpful. All I needed was some hot cue buttons and this got me there. Deleted the old functions assigned to those buttons (by sorting the Mapped To column while the button was highlighted) and I was good to go. My Mixtrack 1 has no hot cue buttons, so I swapped out the 4 loop buttons on my Deck A, since that's the one I scratch on anyway, so I got 4 hot cues now. Needed to be able to jump around the track to try and learn the Peter Piper routine (lol eventually, hopefully).
Thanks for that. How do you set it so the hot cue will play until you take your finger off. Even when the deck is stopped. Kinda like an mpc sampler. All I get is a slight blip and it stops. Its grand when the deck is playing but I would like to be able to use from stop to start to stop when I take my finger of the pad.
If you want to make the cue last by itself, or play in other words, without holding the midi button you mapped, you'll just have to map the Cup (Cue Play) to a different button. If anyone knows a better way let us know
So, I've figured it out, but it depends on what external controller your using. When your setting up your midi controller, you have to make sure the setting is on TOGGLE, not TRIGGER. When I checked Traktor's "interaction mode" option the only selection was "hold" so I couldn't do toggle (toggle makes the cue keep playing, hold means you have to hold to keep playing). The only way I could do this was to change the settings on my external mixer (DJM2000nex). Not sure if this will help you but it worked for me.
okay I know how to map hot cues but when I set them they lock to those marker type things or to better explain it i cannot freely place hotcues anywhere they always go somewhere else :C help?
I would love to know how to add a 'shift' key. So when I hold my "Delete" and press Hot Cue 1, it deletes my hot cue 1. I know I have to make a modifier, but when I do so and deletes the created hotcue it not only deletes it but it also jumps back and starts from the used hotcue... Why? How do I add the modifier so that it will ONLY delete when i used the "Delete" button as a "shift" key? :-). Hope it makes sense.
