@StudlyDyl hahaha that criteria covers most of history then 😉 The Opium Wars are interesting if you like Chinese history, lot of misinformation surrounding that. Same with the Greco-Persian wars, i'm not going to assume where you are from but in the "West" the Persians are framed as this barbaric evil group of people while the Greeks are all beautiful, badass heroes. I'd highly highly recommend Dan Carlin as well. Incredible storyteller who goes into incredible detail about topics you might assume you already know about while keeping it entertaining. All his stuff is available on youtube with only some of his content behind a paywall on his website. I'd suggest his series on Japan during the pacific war if you like modern history. For ancient, his episode on the Gauls is great and his series on the Achamenid empire is awesome. Apologies for the ramble and thanks again for the feedback!

@@ASMRHistorywithSophie There are some beautiful, paradise-like places here, but also some hellish ones too, so it's all about doing research on the place you are visiting first. If you ever plan to visit the northeast, let me know beforehand and I'll show you what Mexican hospitality is all about; which is basically lots of food and fun 😉

It's weird because what even counts as a civilization? When does a group of villages become a civilization?

@@pleb3462 Yes, it's somewhat complex to define; as general guidelines, the population would need a defined system of rulership, social organization, laws, arts and sciences. As long as you have those, you have entered the civilization club 🤣
