A friend sent me the “Live at St Gallen” version of this maybe 18ish years ago. A year later I saw him do it in person in Liverpool. I never rated this studio version in comparison to those experiences, as it’s so hard to compete with your first experiences of a song like this. But here I am now in my late 30s, welling up on the sofa next to my sleeping dog, watching as if it’s the first time again. Thank you. It’s truly a gift.
