You can have both casual and competitive, but the competitive scene should not influence the casual. Random crits are a casual FEATURE. Unbalanced weapons are also.

tbh the biggest reason why this is still alive will be that it is an extremely polished gem of the good ol' days where games still had some polished. games nowadays are unplayable bug riddled, glitchy boring cardboard boxes, pretending to be as glorious as they used to be back in the crysis 1 era.... better to take up old gems than to fund the death of gaming any further... tbh if tf2 had a special lobby system i'd already be playing it. but due to HEAVY disabilitys in my left arm i wouldnt be as competitive as i'd like to be/ as i was back in my old battlefield play4free days (damn my trusty ol' M95+1 EVERY shot a bullethole to the head. no matter the distance.)

I like tf2 but there's a limit to it's gameplay, I don't see how you can argue that the possibilities are endless when MVM soldier is just shoot rockets at robots until they die, or shoot many more rockets at robots until they die, outside of shooting someone there's only one or two tricks each class can do before you get bored of the whole thing, outside of jumping with the sentry or telefragging there's not much else to engie, after you master stair stabs, disguises and ambassador headshots there's not much left to learn about spy, it's a fun game but it's just as limited as any other game out there If I were the TF2 development team I wouldn't know what to do either at this point, if you update it people hate it because you either changed something they liked or caused bugs because you're working on a 16 year old game that's been in development before you were potty trained, or you don't update it and people think you've abandoned the game, I would abandon the game at this point if I was going to get hate no matter what And the real reason I don't play anymore is the comp scene is abandoned so you can't get a match and the casual mode is just a chatroom that has maybe 1 or 2 people actually playing the game while everyone else just emotes, sits in spawn, and smokes weed for hours, you even get yelled at if you try to push the objective, this isn't a game anymore it's just a place for people to hang out, and if that's what you want more power to you but I play games to play the game

Keller is too selfish and only wants money to make a living (no hate please, because I’ve been struggling hard with Blizzard due to no refund of $800 dollars for 5 months from unauthorized purchases, I’m 18., a bank proctor tried calling them but she got hung up on. They’re the pinnacle of greed.) Blizzard can’t make promises as for me when I played the game I used to glitch every time and shutter. They’re hard to comply with, especially their crazy prices. For the people, who still play this game and enjoy while rivaling against others who speak the truth of this game, it’s because they’re brainwashed completely. I hope y’all understand that this game now is not what it seems to be.

I’ve played TFC / TF2 / CS / DOD, etc… since the Original Half Life release, back on a 56k modem… I beta tested Steam - let me tell you why TF2 failed. Simply, they added too many stupid weapons and modes / class gimmicks that interfered with what was essentially a near perfect vanilla base game that appealed to a broad spectrum. If something doesn’t work on a weapon / map / class, tweak the damage or mechanic slightly. Instead, they tried to compete with other genres - no one ever wanted or needed this. Revert back to ‘TF2 Classic’ and players will come back.

Maybe it’s for the best if they don’t update it. What if they ruin it, as big companies do?

So.... Turns out the real reason that TF2 is so popular is due to the number of players being artificially inflated by bots. About three quarters of the "players" are bots. The overwhelming majority of them idling. So only a very small amount (if I remember something like 3, or 0.3?) of those bots are actually cheaters. Somebody who works at Valve even admitted to Uncle Dane that they had to delete thousands of accounts. Accounts which just returned a couple of days later. The rising player count is due to Valve putting less and less effort into cracking down on these bots. This doesn't mean TF2 is dead, the player count isn't decreasing. It just hasn't increased since the last update either. Tf2 is just.... Kinda limping along. Very much in need of medical attention.

valve only has 360 employees, so they probably have lots of em in steam, theres not much people in the tf2 part tho
