This style of bohi with the rounded termination was done one edo period katana? Nice piece!
Beautiful 💖
Thank you!
I would like to know if you make swords?I know these are from another company, but your other swords in your other videos? They look fresh made as the tang is brand new. Also the hamon looks very nice and the polish looks like a real Japanese hadori polish.I cannot see the grain but looks almost nihonto like.Did you learn from a Japanese smith?I'm very interested to know!I appreciate your reply!Have a great day ✌️
Hi, thank you for the application! We don't make the blades, we do mount everything, we do all the customization and all the work., quality control etc etc. You can check our work more closely on our FB Katana Customs.👍
And yes the one making the blades is trained in Japan. Have a great one!
@@katanacustoms9532 Awesome, thankyou for the reply! That's real cool you do all the mountings!I have several of my nihontos that are in military,ie wartime koshirea that I would love to have in some nice mounts,I have some real nice fittings and used to do tsukamaki, however I had to stop when my health turned. It seems like there are fewer and fewer people doing tsukamaki,or making sayas and especially doing traditional urushi work, real lacquer takes alot of effort but lasts a life time. And especially the laquer work,I bought a very nice nihonto some months back with a Absolutely Amazing blade, however the saya was painted and thr koiguchi and kurikata is plastic hahaha!!Lastly and if they do do any of this work they have Very Long waiting times, one guy is around a 2 year wait!!I would love a doe skin tsumami maki with a crushed abalone shell lacquer on a katana of mine.If that would be possible and your not to busy Please let me know, thankyou!Have a great day ✌️
That is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship!
Thank you much appreciated 🙏

Yes it is that old.
What's HTST? Do you mean HSTS? Nice sword!
Yes correct, I can never remember that.🤣
Pretty long to call it a wakizashi.
truly gorgeous
Thank you!
@@katanacustoms9532 yee
70 cm ? This is not a wakazashi but a katana
im not an expert, but when the blade is between 30-60cm long, it is wakizashi and this blade is 52.2cm long according to description. So yes, it is wakizashi.
no
That is exquisite. What did it set you back? 5-10?
I don't remember but I know it was less than 5.
@@katanacustoms9532 that's a pretty decent price.

Katana Customs Thank you so much for the quick reply. Would you happen to know the weight of just the bare blade? I ask this because I’m in my final stages of forging a Katana out of modern steel, and so far my Nagasa weight is 640g. A bit on the light side, but I have seen some Katana and Tachi in 550-600g nagasa. Thank you.
@@Divine_Serpent_Geh I have sold this one, but it was a heavy piece... bare blade was around 815g.
Katana Customs Thank you for the information.
