The strategy Buy top ten and sell when not in the top 20 only works when done from the bull market. Like the return from 1 Jan 22 till date is negative considering current Nifty 500 stocks, however the return from 2021 Jan it is astonishing 39 % CAGR and from 2020 Jan 50% CAGR. From 2023 Jan it is 30%. Conclusion is it is great strategy if you starts from bull market.

how can i quantify circuit stocks and exclude them from my backtest? for example, recently I got UNITECH in my momentum portfolio,sometime back i got BSHSL in my portfolio and I am not comfortable including such circuit stocks in my portfolio..
