Fr. Daniel, I find your homilies so appropriate for the residents I visit on Sundays at an Assisted Living/Memory Care residence. I also love the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the background for this Sunday’s homily. How appropriate! (I am able to project your homily from my phone to a smart TV in our “Chapel” room. So nice!)

Is being taught the Trinity by those who were taught the Trinity the same as learning the trinity with that same information on your own? I will be using the NABRE with " Ignorance of the scripture is ignorance of Christ " St. Jerome on the back cover. I will start from Adam and Eve to todays baptism. Adam and Eve were the 1st to sin and the 1st to be saved ( Genesis 3:21 ) God covered them in skins of animals he killed, there's life in the blood ( Genesis 4:10 ) Abel's blood cried out to God from the ground. Blood sacrifice for sin was done this way all the way up to (John 1:29 ) in the new testament. John saw Jesus coming toward him and said " Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. In ( 1John 1:7 ) .... we have fellowship with 1 another and the blood of his Son Jesus cleanses us from sin. How does this happen ( 1 John 5:7-8 ) So there are 3 that testify, the Spirit, the water, and the blood and the 3 are of 1 accord. How they come together is in Jesus name. When you say Jesus name. in comes the Spirit, then right after that in comes the blood and it mixes with the water, and when you get down into the water there 's a washing and a cleansing and your spirit comes out white as snow. ( Hebrews 9:22 ) Explains it like this: According to the law almost everything is purified by blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness, Now I cannot show you his Spirit it's invisible, and I can't show you the blood shed at Cavalry, but I can show you the water. It's the only water that can save you, the water with blood in it and the only way to get it applied is Jesus name. There's no other name in which you can be saved ( Acts 4:12-13 ). But you say I was baptized as an infant, no blood, no forgiveness, you can go down to the river and be dunked 3 times, no blood, no forgiveness, but what of all of those baptized in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, no blood, no forgiveness. ( Ephesians 4:5 ) 1 Lord, 1 faith, 1 baptism. It's for everyone no exceptions.

Hello Father, I become Catholic a while back after reconciling from Protestantism. Since I’ve been greatly edified by reading many of the Church Fathers, some (and my favorite) being Franciscans, ie. : St Francis of course and my patron Saint, Padre Pio. I have a young daughter who I split time with the mother. If I was not a father I would have loved to join the Order. I feel so compelled and inspired from the teachings and what I believe, such authentic Christianity. My question for you Father is, how can I better live in a Franciscan fashion while remaining in world to care for my daughter? Is there a lay Franciscan guideline of sorts I could use to follow? Thank you for reading! 🙏

Thank you Fr Dan for a wonderfully insightful homily. I will be taking this to prayer and praying for that reorientation away from complaining and back to reality. It’s rather easy to only focus on what I think I should have and complaining is often like a poison that we share with others instead of sharing our blessings. May the Lord grant you his peace
