Trying to watch this from a Head mounted camera is not good to watch !
The camera was strapped to my chest. If you have suggestions for where to put the camera, feel free to write them in the comments.
I appreciate the workflow. The idea of isolating the talkback between monitors is super cool!
thanks
How do I take direct outs via usb and also LR mix via usb? Should I patch the direct outs to each channel and take the mix out for LR and route accordingly in reaper?
It would be great to get more videos like this! Do you put your GoPro on your head or chest?
Great video, I think I have learned something but I have a question: I have very little experience in corporate shows, so probably my thinking is wrong, but wouldn't it be better to change the insert position of the automixer and the 5045, so that the 5045 "gates away" all the background noise and only the voice runs into the automixer. The other way around, some frequencys could trigger the automixer and then get cut by the 5045, so that some of the automixer gain gets wasted.
So if I insert the automix before the fader unfortunately every mic will effect the automix even if not live, as I have only one way to choose where to put the insert point I prefer to put that after the fader so I only have the automix working with the mic that are live, the 5045 in my case it's just there to help a bit the work that auto mix is already doing. Thanks for your comments, I'm always happy to hear other opinions and if any other sound op has done something different I will be more than happy to try.
love this content lol, almost theraputic
Thanks
Nice! Actually very similar to my peli... I love the pouches, I have to get those as well, as mine is a total mess after every show 😆 May I ask what do you use your streamdeck for? I've bought one, as I really liked the concept of it, but I rarely use it. It's not worth setting up for stuff I do once on a laptop and it's too complex, time consuming and unreliable to connect it to lightning consoles, mixing desks etc. over OSC etc. in touring situations... I see loads of uses for it in an fixed (or semi-temporary) installations, where it could automate and expand a lot of things, but can't find a use while touring...
Hello there, thanks for watching. yes the pouch are useful! I've created several videos about the Stream Deck on my channel. Here are a few use cases I'd like to share with you: 1. With my SQ5, I use them to communicate with each musician while simultaneously opening their AUX mix. 2. I can press record for Reaper and mark each session accordingly. 3. For QLab, I can cue specific tracks, play, stop, and pause as needed. 4. I utilize them for software like Barco or AW for calling presets or other functions. 5. Sometimes, if there isn't enough budget for two technicians and I'm managing video switching, PowerPoint, and playing multiple videos, I can network all the laptops together. This allows me to play the videos, switch to a preset, and make the video live with just one button press. Setting this up isn't easy and requires a good understanding of networking and each software involved. Machines can fail, so being able to troubleshoot quickly is essential.
@@imdomtrotta Yeah, these are exactly the things I thought of, but for (semi)permanent installations. I'm an network engineer and software programmer, but I find networking everything together and fiddling with OSC, companion, IPs and ports etc., let alone some OSC routers and converters in a touring situation time consuming and not worth it. For permanent deployment, it's awesome... I'm more of a lightning guy, but I like 1, that might be worth the effort as it's only a single device...
Hi, I have a new band to work with this week. They are using qlab and live mics/ instruments. They request a monitor mixer and foh. I have sat for monitor mix and sq6 for foh. Live (local) input to sq5 are channels 1 to 14, qlab (via USB input) 15 to 26. Will the q lab 'self populate' the sq5? And will those settings also populate the sq6 (front of house)? I assume the 2 desks will be connected via a link? Thanks
Sorry, sq5 for monitor mix desk!
Hello @mshep6318, so this is how I will approach this. 1. you will need a Slink to be able to connect the 2 desk FOH and MON 2. USB B to your Qlab Machine 3. You will need to patch the USB B Channel (Qlab output) to channel 15 to 26. 4. Use Tie Liens to send your Qlab Channel to your Monitor Desk
how many channels can you run compression on? does that change if the compressors are side chained? like could i side chain 8 channels to the kick if i wanted?
You can run a compression on each channel. you can side chain only one channel, although I don't remember if if you side chain to a Group, so you can send the 8 channel to a group and side chain that group, never tried before
Amazing video! Didn’t know what it takes to patch up between bands and how intensive it is. learned alot from your organization by color and location of eat sub snake drops around the stage. Would really love to know what the name of the first dancehall song that played in the background.
Happy to help!
Aah yeah this is what you were talking about the other day. Definitely gonna download this :)
Yessss, finally a new vid!!😍
got a new camera, so more stuff will come!
Nice one. Question about stream deck. In last video you showed how to set up talk back to specific members of the band. Is it possible to set up Stream deck so I could here specific person monitor/IEM? Lets say I want to listen to what is singer hearing and so on. Thanks.
yeah you could do that, you need first assign the soft key to a mix select and after you will need to assign that to the stream deck, but you will need to have the PFL always select on the master so when you will select the mix you will be able to select the mix, this is the way that I use it
@@imdomtrotta Thanks a lot Domenico.
Hey man great video, I am having trouble connecting my Audio Console to my computer mac I cannot get the midi control app to connect
did you download the right software? Are the IP addresses all in the same range?
Yes sorry I figured it out, I had everything plugged into a POE switch and realized I need to have router
Push button sharpies. One hand operation. Epic.
Just ordered a box, thank you!
@@imdomtrotta Glad to help someone who helped me 🙏😊
thank you @@F3PIZZA

Best part when the band don't show up with half the stuff they say and it all feels alot easier. Wierldy like being over prepared and then not bothering.

I carry them in my backpack, but in the Pelican case, I avoid storing food
You are doing the Lords work, I dunno why theres so many haters in the comments! You make FOH and MON eng. jobs so much easier where they can focus more clearly. Great video. I love you etape holder. is that a big carabiner are you able to link me to it??
Thanks for watching for the amazing words. This link will help you amzn.to/3Ojvwbe

Is your mix just another mixbus you build and you are just cueing (soloing) when not cueing a musician’s mix? Are you wearing an IEM pack or are you hardwired to the headphone out on the desk? Recording is the cue bus of the desk, imagine?
Hey Evanberg1605, thanks for watching. 1. Yes, in this case was a MIX that I just dedicated to myself, I like to have a mix for my self so I can have an idea, how the mix sound and it's a fun as well. 2. I'm hardwired to the headphone out of the desk as we didn't have an extra pack for my CUE, unfortunately. 3.Yes I'm sending the CUE out from the desk to Reaper where I was doing MULITRACK Recording as well of the entire band.
Great BTs video
Thanks for watching and the support as always

Great setup
Thank you
hi, which brand our the sub snake ( with colors)..12 inputs
Hey there thanks for watching they are custom made
That much prep is not needed , your definitely unorganized even though you look like you should be and then all the electrical tape everywhere with the residue it leaves.
Hey @rusinjeff5959 thanks for your comment and watching the video. 👉"That much prep is not needed" -> When you have a certain standard of work and you have 30/45 min to setup everything by yourself a good prep it's always the way to go, this is what I have learn in the past years. 👉 "your definitely unorganized even though you look like you should" -> I try my best to be always on it and have everything where needs to be. 👉 "then all the electrical tape everywhere with the residue it leaves" -> if you are talking about the electrical tape that I used on the packs and Mic i use that as doesn't leave the residue that the tape from the label make leave, that's why I use tape before applying the label on top. We use a good electric tape and doesn't leave residue. Thank you again for watching.
Nice Video, where did u get the Lid Organizer?
on ebay, was used.
I am occasionally a stagehand at gigs, but I mainly work in theater (floor but also front of house). Now I have a few questions, such as which software do you use to prepare a gig or multiple gigs?
I use Google sheets, I have all the bands info on there and I build a patch festival looking at each band channel list
@@imdomtrotta Thx for the info just one more question 😁 which program do you use for making schematics of the stage (stage plot)
@@finngordijn9266 I use powerpoint most of the time, easy to use and fast. Most of the time you don't need to draw intruments on stage, but only position. Channel list with input and output is important as well
Love you're vids, and I love your work❤
Thanks
Hey is that a bottle of shampoo in your pelli cse?
