Nice video.
After binge watching hiking and rafting videos I have concluded that the aforementioned content creators pick the worst music for the videos.
Great run when it has water, which is becoming all too rare.
This video is not what it is titled. I've run C-G a hundred times. You need to go back and re-edit and/or re-title.
My favorite place!
What paddle should I get for my eddyline 14 sit on top
What happened did one or hell all three of you guys decide to run haunted the same way you ran the little pin ball section . I would exclude that pin ball swim and put the deep near death room of doom swim in its place F it we all go to the room without our boat at some point.
How does this run compare to Chili Bar on the South Fork?
I'm not sure where they got the name "Big Bend", but this is better known as the Shirtail run, or Yankee Jim's to Ponderosa. It's a Class 2+/3- run and probably easier than Chili Bar.
Epic. Know of any groups that will take a beginner out (on a different rapid of course)? I'm a sea kayaker, but I do a ton of ww boat riding in the waves. Have a super solid roll and bracing. Would love to get up into some ww but don't know where to start.
wrybread take a 201 class with CCK or find a group to join like GCP (gold country paddlers) or LPP (loma prieta paddlers) The latter is free, GCP is ten bucks a year.
+wrybread Current Adventures also has awesome instruction. You should try an RK2 or RK3 clinic there.
how do you punch through those big holes without flipping. they always turn me head over heels
+DylanGproductions I don't think they actually went through any holes in this video, just big waves, but to answer your question; never stop paddling and using a boof stroke to get over it also helps.
scotty! :)
What kind of kayak do you guys use.
Nice vid , I subbed , just got a dagger and am learning from watching you
Very cool!
AWESOME!
I love this section
Do you remember what flow this was
What do you consider the hardest run?
awesome video! Can't wait to do this run
Nope. Mainly springtime, fed by snowmelt, and winter time with rain.
Do you run this stretch in December?
low flows below 1000 cfs is when it gets you..lots of pins and undercuts @ low flows..
Lol i know you co,mented this a while ago but i recently did it at about 610 cfs and had to wait for the rafts on my trip to stop and line their boats through
you should do the same run in an open cockpit recreational kayak : P
When's the next trip? LOL We ran it I wanna say this pass winter 2012 and the same thing happened to my buddy Dave on upper pin ball on that same side wave hole. But it was only me and him. Before haunted house he flip again but didn't roll up in time and flow was fast 2200 or more gauges we're off supposedly. Then next thing I'm watching him swim and rolling off the clear drop of haunted house. Took some time for him to snap out of I almost died and then we finished the paddle down before sun
Great Video....as a new kayaker getting ready to step up from the C-G run to gorge is very helpful to see the near future. Thanks
im watching cause i need do school porject >.<
ive ran this @ 3,500 cfs..knarly..class v swims..fully calss 4+ at high flows..this stretch claimes more lives than most rivers cause of the stepping stone into class 4 boating
Where's the footage or carnage of you guys running Haunted House?
"I whip my hair back and forth"...makes me a little more racist each time I hear it.
Lovely section. I would say a good class IV. Will this be runnable in the months of August/September ?
what r u guys rocking for kayaks? Wavesport Diesel (Red)? Dagger Nomad (White/Blue) or is it a mamba?
Nice Dude, is that the helmet mount or the chest harness...
That's great guys! I've been down that in a friends self bailing raft. That was an adrenaline rush. I'm sure that is even more. I'd love to learn to get up to that speed. Be safe and keep capturing video. I have gopros also. Bring the world what you get to experience. Awesome!!
Great vid, what program was used to edit this....
Sweet video you guys made a great video
what class is this?
wicked! song?
What was the flow during this run? Thanks for sharing.
Great footage. I'm going to school in a mountainy area with lots of rivers. Is this really hard to learn to do well?
