we use SOS. the problem with KITS is that if your kit has more than 40 items (we sell collections of 70 to 100 items) then SOS is unable to process them into sales orders. It just gets stuck in the process

I'm new to Fishbowl and your videos have been great for getting an idea of how it works, thanks! I have some questions, though. Context: I have been going through the Fishbowl setup where I work and I noticed that there are multiple versions of the same part. The different versions represent the same part at different points along the manufacturing process. There is one for the raw machined version, another version for when the part is coated, etc. This is very cumbersome and has lead to thousands of parts that we hardly use. Questions: Is this the best way to model the process of making a part? I noticed that you use a generic "Coating" service-part to track that process and cost in the BOM, is that a better way of tracking this sort of thing? We sometimes collect a lot of raw machined parts before brining them all to our coating vendor, and I can see how it would be useful to track those parts as distinct parts rather than semi-completed parts. Is there a good way of tracking the status and location of these incomplete parts without creating multiple versions? Finally, the shipping department at my work uses these separate versions for purchase orders. E.g. they send out raw machined parts with a PO and purchase coated parts to receive back in. Is there a way to replicate this sort of functionality without the multiple version model? I know that was a lot of questions, but any answers would be much appreciated. I want to make a good case for switching to a simpler model to make everyone's life easier.

Hi, thanks for your videos. Our inventory was uploaded without prices ($0), but now we need to massively update these prices to one unique price ($300) for each item without affecting the actual data.

The biggest problem I had with Fishbowl were the lies I was told concerning their capabilities. After wasting months of time they admitted the program could not do what they said it could when they tricked us into signing up. They then started to hang up on us when we called and ignoring emails. Terrible customer service, disreputable company, waste of time and money. If only they had been honest about what the software can and can not do. If only they had admitted their mistake. Now we are expected to pay another $25,000 for a program that never did what they said it could do. The integration period is expected to take 6 to 8 weeks but the refund period is only 30 days. GET IT ALL IN WRITTING AND DON'T LET THEM PUSH YOU PAST THE REFUND PERIOD. DO NOT TRUST FISHBOWL INVENTORY!

Thanks for the pointers! Are there any eCommerce inventory programs that push orders placed in the software back to the ecommerce store? Like I am disappointed that any orders we do in person through Fishbowl will never push over into our BigCommerce store, I wish it would because it's where all our sales history is at. My company deals with fiber optic cable reels. We need a way to, not only track the type of cable on each reel, but the amount of cable left on the reel. I was hoping i could create a part number in Fishbowl for the type of cable and then use serial numbers to track the individual reels. My question then is, can i record the quantity of cable left on an individual reel or do all serial numbers have an unmodifiable number of 1? Example: I have a 20,000 foot reel of 144 strand fiber. I use 7000 feet on a job and 13,000 feet is left on the reel and returned to the yard. Can I assign 7000feet of that serialed reel to the job number and the remaining 13,000 feet remain in the yard with the same serial number?
