I love the contrast in the old school black and white dresses. I think they are charming. However, i think the quality of the lace and trim used can make or break the design. If cheap lace is on it, it will look ita.

I'm fascinated by lolita subculture, even tho I wouldn't wear it, I think Prince's style is the one style I would wear. Of all the influencers, imo Prince has the best taste, best cords, eye for color and so on. I find most Lolita styles too cartoonish and campy, but Prince's style is most grounded and a believable modern translation of historical Rococo. I think a person from the Rococo era would wear whatever Prince put them into lol. THe cord Prince put you in in the next video was sooo perfect for you too

i still have art that was drawn for me by other lolitas from over 15 years ago! they really are cherished objects for me, regardless of the skill level-someone thought of me and put time and effort into making art for me. and for gifts i've given recently, i found the matching hairties to an op owned by a friend who likes putting their hair up in space buns. i also made a dress for a kumya pochette for another friend. if you're able to sew and want to give small gifts or prizes that are easy to make and easy to give, my personal recommendation is detachable bows in solid colors with a little bit of lace. detachable bows that are 7-10cm wide are really versatile for almost any coord!

Love the glimmer off your socks matching with the reflection off the belt buckle; really enjoying the pearls on the blouse and headbow Coord 4: soap bubbles Definitely gave off the 80s vibe with the side pony and leg warmers. ah, it's a shame that milky way cardigan would not fit me-it would perfectly match a pair of AP otks i have (the short boot otks from 2010 in pink)! it's really interesting to see how different people prioritize pieces in their wardrobe, and i feel like cardigans don't often get this much shine. it was a little funny for me to see you describe the little dipper cardigans as loose, since for me i'm considering selling mine once i find some replacements because i find the upper arms so fitted that short sleeves underneath can make them look lumpy, lol. i agree with other commenters that would like to see blouses next!

I looove boleros! Cardigans are nice too, but I like the silhouette of boleros better, and I don't have to mess with as many buttons. I currently have about 18 boleros and cardigans, most of them from Little Dipper. They are just a great way to easily add variety to coords! 😊

I am not a Lolita (my style is more vintage-y) but I really like Lolita fashion for its femininity and creativity, and watch video's like yours for inspiration.

In defense of the infamous yellow one it's probably my favourite one 😂 but then again star motifs are my equivalent to your polka dots 😅 also I have a matching beret to that NP bunny cardigan but I'm hesitant about getting any NP clothing as I doubt it would fit me, its super cute though 🥰

Cardigans have been some of the hardest to build up in my wardrobe due to bein' busty as hell, but I'm getting there! For the past year, I've done well at not impulse buying... dresses. And I stress it is just dresses. My maladjusted spending habits have shifted to something arguably more expensive and it does worry me for the long run, especially when stacked on top of chemo. I continue to check Closet Child every few weeks to few days, and I feel massive anxiety that I may get more clothing but at the same time could miss out on something very cute or unique that I was NOT pining after for years. Haven't been on Lace Market in what feels like a couple years, but I distinctly remember how common it was to read that someone never wore a piece or maybe wore it once before selling it. It really undermines the ideal of sustainability that the community often professes.

I love cardigans and really enjoyed this in-depth look at your collection! Thank you for sharing! Wardrobe posts often gloss over items like this (if they are even mentioned at all). The garments and accessories which aren't main pieces are such a huge part of an established lolita wardrobe so it is sad that they aren't featured and lauded more often. I suppose it's because it takes a lot of time and effort to go through each piece in a traditional wardrobe post. Super looking forward to all the other episodes you will be creating in this series!! This video had such relaxing, cosy vibes.

the no-buy cycling is probably real, but i am a very low-buy lolita in general. i feel like more seasoned lolitas (like 40 pieces or about 5 years) have an easier time talking ourselves out of routine purchases, but it makes larger purchases of long-time wishlist items or indie brand releases even more compelling. indie brands are a lot more difficult to get secondhand, so the FOMO is more pressing then.

Throwback to long before I wanted wear lolita but was already very aware of all the shopping possibilities. Including taobao as an option. I commented something about not being able to afford it and someone on facebook was like "Oh you don't know taobao yet." Bitch no. I know there's more than new AP. I literally had to type out "I'm poor" for this person to shut up and stop trying to convince me I can totally afford lolita bc it's supposedly so cheap on taobao. Some people can't afford groceries, don't try to talk anyone into a luxury hobby. For some people 20$s for a skirt is a fortune they can't afford. I'm still really mad about this encounter.
