Forget-Me-Not and though you say that you'll be mine i hear another voice in time and that voice plays a bitter song says i will stay but i won't stay long but who's to say who's true and who is not with eyes as blue as forget-me-nots when first i held you to my breast i would believe that east was west i would believe that right was wrong when first I heard your silken song believe that false ...

David Rodriguez & Lucinda Williams - Deportees
where can I find the lyrics for ALL of these songs
David, you have a beautiful tenor voice. I'd love to here you release these beautiful songs .
If Trump wins, this should be played anytime anyone dares to play “Proud to be an American” again.
Can you please post Jesus was a capercorn off that album ? I can not find it anywhere.
That album was out of print, but has now been re-released. I had been looking for Frisco Depot for years and so glad to have found it
@kjfreepta1 hello, I'd really appreciate it if you could upload Jesus was a Capricorn. I haven't heard his version In a long time
@@thebrownmountainlights7718 It’s on UA-cam now, I didn’t upload it but someone did
One of the disappointments in my life has been in not seeing Eric in a live setting, especially during the 1990s. I got to see Olney though.
Pretty damn sad. I guess that makes it a very good and effective song, but I have to feel sorry for the forty-something Bill Morrissey who had to endure that situation.
Thanks, Herve. And happy birthday on Sunday.
I saw him earlier than this performance at a small theater in Gulfport, Fl. The show was a treat and I had the chance to tell him how much I enjoyed his music afterwards.
This is beautiful
It sure sounds like he is just plain tired. The chords are so dissonant, almoat wrong.Who hasn't felt like singing out of tune after being dismissed as mediocre, too many times.Did Bill become a too far gone alcoholic? He was the one who convinced that music is worth pursuing as a career choice.Too late for me,though.I missed the last wave.
Thanks, Herve, I am a big fan of Mark's and I love finding videos like this. 😀
I saw him live in 1998 at the Ottawa Folk Festival and this song plucked the heartstrings of my soul.
Such a sad story, given so poetically and with a beautiful clear voice. ❤
One of his best. RIP Bill.
amazing performance and just great songwriting ...
Thanks Hank! Is this from the same concert that "Car and Driver" from "Standing Eight" is from.
Recorded in your neck of the woods?
Great song.
Would have liked to know Charlene.
The 2007 Oxford Conference on the Book was dedicated to Larry Brown and my boyfriend and I drove up from just south of Oxford to check it out. That night after the conference a bunch of folks gathered at Proud Larry’s to play music in memory of Larry. There was Robert Earl Keen and his bass player Bill Whitbeck and Clyde Edgerton and Alejandro Escavedo and Vic Chestnutt and others who’s names escape me and they opened their souls to us and my boyfriend played guitar and we had a night that was a transmigration from Mr. Brown and one that I will never forget. Thank you and RIP Mr. Brown. RIP Mr. Lancaster you live in my heart always.
Thanks for uploading the awesome content. Mr. Mudd and Mr. Gold at about 5:00; awesome song - superhard to memorize the lyrics.
It's my 60th birthday and for this NH girl it wouldn't be complete without listening to this particular show of Bill's. Thank you Bill for all your music. Wish I saw you live. Great storyteller and as luck would have it, I quilt. I love the story about his manager needing to go see the Amish quilts, in Intercourse, PA "If you don't drink, I guess you come up with good names for towns."
Dang! What a version of this song. Sweet harmonies.
I was living in Chicago on this date. How did I miss this? So good. Good night, Bill.
Saw you at Gilreins in Worcester Ma, approx 1996, GREAT
Wow, just wow. Thank you so much for sharing this!
sounds like vic chesnutt
Great one Herve...
One of Mark's many masterpieces!
Wow... great stuff.😍
There is a nice two hour video of this gig floating around out there.
on YT ?

RIP Bill. Glad I had to see you in Berkeley, CA. It was this album and it brought me from New England to there. Miss you.
Thank-you
Jeffrey is amazing! Saw him for about the 8th time last evening in Boston. What a treasure!
I miss Bill so much...
Love hearing Peter and his expert noodling around behind Bill's voice. Says a lot about their friendship :)
What a TREAT. Thanks so much for posting this for all of us. :o)
Thanks for posting. Did they perform ‘Northbound 35’ during this concert?
Yes, they did: setlist and pictures at www.mysongwriters.com/Jeff_Toogenblik/Photos.htm
herve oudet thank you. Is there a recording of it? There used to be a recording of that song, on youtube from this concert, but I can’t seem to find it anymore
@@MrTeamcatfish hmmm, apparently they played it in Brussels-Toogenblik (link posted in comment above), but not at the Blue Highways festival...
there are several versions on YT, including Richard Shindell's : is.gd/5xZohU
herve oudet thank you. I met Eric Heywood in LA and was lucky enough to get a pedal steel lesson from him, years ago. Im a huge fan of his
This is fantastic! I wish side 1 was still on here, I'd love to have heard how Ragtime, Sail Away, and Love Story sounded.
he's the best!
Un grand merci! Ce concert était merveilleux!!!!! Il faisait froid mais il faisait chaud! Mes disques sont partis dans l'au-dela avec la personne a qui je les avait pretés.
Just thinking about Bill Morrissey and found this! Sweet memory. There is a line from this song on Bill's headstone at his grave. Thanks, Herve.
I believe Greg loved Bill, and tried to help him not drink himself to death. And the way addiction works, that ended the relationship.
Steve Smith you may be right. I saw Morrissey at many gigs since 1982 in NH. I also saw these two on the last spot of their duo tour in circa 1993 (?) in Virginia and it was a disaster. They clearly hated each other by then. But I will note that Greg Brown's public post-humous note about Morrisey--'music came hard to bill' or something close--was nasty and rich given that Greg Brown is basically a beginner guitar player with a deep voice. overrrated in the extreme in my view.
@@jeffb4416 greg's a genius. his settings of blake alone show his musicality

Cool stuff thanks for posting.
Been a fan of Mark for my whole life pretty much! So so good :)
Eric Taylor and David Olney both knew how to introduce a song, sucking the audience in, the audience fortunate enough to be there "that night" - and how to mold the story to the audience and the song.. Boy, are they missed. Both left us in early 2020, but thankfully left us so much.
They sure did, John !! nobody like 'em. I could listen forever xx
Back for a "re-juicing" - only gets better with time.
True that, John ! I've been on an ET video watching spree the past few days......miss that "Big Un" !
One of those songs where every note means something!
I was at this show! I was in college and went by myself instead of partying with my friends and it might have been the best decision I made the whole time. Incredible set!
