Replacing my drive belt and blade on my Rikon 14" bandsaw 10-325.
Festool MFT/3 Extension Jig
Переглядів 988Рік тому
I made an extension jig for my Festool MFT/3. This will help me to be able to cut longer lengths of material.
I’ve got one. I regret buying this piece of junk. I can’t get it to stop blade wandering.
Also, TSO makes an extension for $190. Works great!
Nice project and solution to a required cut setup. Adding a second MFT table is nice, but takes more room and as you said adds $800+ additional cost. There is another alternative, the DashBoard Outrigger, which is about a 2-foot extension to the MFT, and can be folded down when not needed. It has a MFT type drilled top on the same centers as the MFT, allowing you to extend a fence onto the extension. Also DasBoard as a nice surface mount fence that attaches to the holes, so keeps everything square. The total cost for both is about half the cost of an additional MFT. Cheers
I have had this bandsaw for years. Always had a love/hate relationship with it until I set it up like Alex Snodgrass recommended. Also found that the 1/2” and 3/8” blades worked the best. Tried 3/4” a few times but think the other blade sizes are the sweet spot.
Thank you for letting me know. I can't wait to check out how Snodgrass sets it up.
Great job Robert. Your video described this process best. One guy did put the belt to the inside of the smooth pulley. 🫢 Love my 10-325. Have had it for awhile and just now noticed the belt starting to come apart in small pieces. Lol Thanks
Thanks for the kind words.
