What’s the history of this band?!
Veronique Ramirez the Country Roland Band was started in the early 70’s by Roland Garcia Sr after facing the ongoing issue of musicians quitting on him in his former band Country Roland and the Valley Boys. Eventually the band became a family affair and consisted of one son, three daughters, a son-in-law and a local steel guitarist and fiddler. With the bands coming of age it also included the 3rd generation. Several grandsons also played in the band. Country Roland Sr. was the founder of Tejano Country music. For several years Country Band controlled radio play and record sales in south Texas. They sold out dance halls and venues through Texas, Mexico, on bordering states. Country Roland passed away on October 18th 2012. Shortly there after the band changed the name to Kikker Daddy Legacy (another name Country Roland was fondly referred to by his fans) the current line up consists of two daughters and finding members of the Country Roland Band, two grandsons and three non related band members.
