Guitar Gallery Melbourne
Australia
Приєднався 17 гру 2020
The Guitar Gallery Melbourne is a specialist acoustic music store located in downtown Fitzroy. It is owned and run by Gerry Hale.
We have the largest selection of banjos and mandolins in Australia. As well as stocking a broad range of guitars, including flamenco, gypsy jazz, and resonators, we also carry hard-to-find instruments, such as charangos, mandocellos, tres, Irish bouzoukis, and other collectibles. We even have a Trinity College concertina in stock at the moment. And of course, we have a fine ukulele department.
Gerry and others will be demonstrating a selection of stock from The Guitar Gallery, plus new arrivals. Along the way we will be chatting with musicians about their instruments, their techniques, and their views.
For the moment however, we will be concentrating on demonstrating stock. All the audio has been recorded with vintage Gefell mike through a Class A valve mike pre-amp. To truly how an instrument sounds we advise using headphones or ear buds.

Gretsch Chet Atkins Model
Country musicians have always enjoyed Gretsch guitars and Chet Atkins was one of the great players who's name will always be connected to them.

Eastman E6SS Thermo Cured
Переглядів 84День тому
guitargallery.com.au/products/eastman-e6ss-tc-guitar/ Eastman guitars are highly regarded by many musicians. This Gibsonesque slope shoulder features a thermo cured top that gives a new guitar a head start in the ageing process. It's hard to define this mysterious change but old guitars certainly take on a character that new ones can only develop given time.
Guild D 40 Dreadnaught

Guild have been making guitars since 1952 and they have always offered guitar fans something a little different. A step away from Martin, Gibson but always with class and quality.

Custom shop with sinker Mahogany back and sides. There's not much to not like about this guitar except for maybe the price but a custom shop guitar from a prestigious company with a history going back to 1833 will never come cheap.
Gladiator Tele Style Guitar

Saga Music California only made a few of these and for such an affordable guitar they were surprisingly good.
Gibson Les Paul 2019

This guitar couldn't be in better condition and is ready for a new loving owner. The current owner loves it but never got around to learning how to play it. It is a familiar story and not an unusual one either.
Guild M-40 Troubadour
Переглядів 52День тому
Small body guitars are always nice to sit down with fingerstyle players and this little Guild Troubadour is no exception. Made in the USA. guitargallery.com.au/products/guild-usa-m-40-troubadour-guitar/
Guild Surfliner
Переглядів 23День тому
Guild have been known to do thing a little differently and as the name suggests this guitar must have originally been a twangy surf sound, Jeff Lang however manages to take this Rose Quartz Surfliner a little further into much deeper water.
Fujigen Standard Strat
Переглядів 4День тому
Back in the 1970's Fujigen (now known as FGN) were making some of their finest instruments for many different companies including some very big US brands. All that came to an abrupt litigious end but Fujigen kept producing with just minor changes to avoid court proceedings.
Gibson ES 125 TC

guitargallery.com.au/products/gibson-es-125-tc-guitar-1965/ This old Gibson as stood the test of time very well. The top has faded over the years which very common but the old P90 still sounds as good as it ever did. Special thanks to Jeff Lang for giving it a quick demo.

Resonators with the dobro style cone are a lot more mellow than biscuit models. While they may not be as loud, volume isn't always the be and end all of a nice sounding guitar.
Regal RC 43 Resonator
Переглядів 43День тому
Regal are an old brand with a long held reputation for making good affordable resonator guitasr. The RC-43 with it's steel body and single cone has great depth in tone and all the volume you need in an acoustic setting. This guitar will work very well with a mike onstage.
What style/genre is this?
What kind of bracing does this have? All ads go into great detail about materials, but no one ever mentipons the bracing.
Thank you very much. You have great technique. What song is this? No pressure, but I’m going on a hunger strike until I hear back from you. I currently have plenty of blubber in my belly region so I’ll probably not die of hunger if it takes you a few weeks to answer my question. Cheers S
i love the mid-range these traditional soundhole style mandos produce
Can you tell me the string spacing at the saddle on these? Thanks!
Love my 305❤
Love the sound
Seems like I'm hearing a lot of buzzing.
You never come back from Copperhead Rowwwwww.....
Very nice. Is that a mandola?
Nice sound! Nice playing!
The sound on this video isn’t very good. There is a lot of feedback. 😕
Yes,
Am i correct in thinking the only differences between the models is aesthetic appointments?
I'd love one of these! I have an inexpensive Eastman MD305 octave mandolin. I like the idea of stringing it with octave strings on the G&D like Sarah Jarosz does, It's a more interesting sound to me than the unisons, though probably not ideal for everything when there are other higher stringed instruments involved, like a mandolin.
Hi, thanks for the message..I enjoyed hearing that you like the octave strings tuning and there's always one in the shop with that setup. I must make a demo. It gives the instruments a sparkle that I like. I use a mandola on gigs with the same setup . thanks again Gerry.
I have a The Loar LM-520. If I had the cash, I'd grab a KM-270 to go with it. You'd have both ends of the mandolin sound spectrum, and they're both very nice.
Sounds nicer than mine. Did you switch from the factory-installed strings?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nice!
Playing traditional western music, on an instrument made in Communist China.
WOW 😳❤️🔥🥰
Thank you for your efforts to make us happy.🙏❤🌹👍
I love it!
KM270. I have one along with a Gibson A2 and a Gibson A Jr Snakehead. The KM 270 is more balanced, projects more, and I have to admit has a higher build quality. Sorry Gibson.
How does this compare to more expensive banjos how's the action?
*YAAAAAAAAAAAAA..............Y ?* 😳!
Wow! Sounds really tinny. I bet it is really heavy too. Even though Eastman carves their instruments, this one sounds like a pressed on top. Very nice looking mandolin but I prefer sound over looks any day.
Nice vibe !!... muchas gracias!
What is this piece called, please?
Perhaps by Doris Day
Charango BOLIVIANO dando de comer a los huerfanos chilenos y Perúanitos😊
Si, bastante pescado.
@@alfredoguardia6367 los Bolis no conocen el pescado.
Sir, what woubld be it's price?
Beautiful ,Sir 👌👌👌👌👌
Really nice playing , thank you.!
Well played❤
Ok. Here I go. Own 4 different models of Bourbon street resonators, including this one. Metal tri one, wood and metal single cone. I am not a musician just enjoy playing. The sound and quality with the Bourbon streets are high end for your dollars. My train of thought, I don’t play professionally so $7k for a national or get 4x resonators with quality and personality. Simple decision. A mate of mine, professional musician has used them on stage... and.. they hold there own with a better player than myself. Great investment and had no problems.
😬 "Promo SM"
What’s that song you’re playing?
Horrible demo on shitty guitar
ok so now we know how the 5th and 6th strings sound. What about the rest?
Such a beautiful instrument! Many thanks for helping me settle on this today :)
Wow!
Anyone know what this tune is called?
Chirps and Williams
Very nice sounding, what song was that?
Copperhead Road - Steve Earle ua-cam.com/video/xvaEJzoaYZk/v-deo.html
Sounds a bit to me like “copperhead road” by Steve Earle
Hmm I heard « paperback writer » !
